1.1.0 Patch Notes - Sacrifice of the Vaal

HAHAHAHA, FUCK YES! Take that, BoR scrubs and Aegis nubs! I'll keep my Abyssus and luckily my Maligaro's didn't get nerfed too hard. Can't wait to see changes to Duelist and Marauder areas!

Also, Barrage will actually attack 50% faster now, that's huge. CoC players rejoice! It might be a worthwhile skill without CoC, too, who knows?

PLEASE LET US PASS THROUGH SCION STARTING AREA LIKE IN OPEN BETA

Lets see Vaal pact moved back near scion!! yyyayaayyyyayyayay come on come on - happy for all the changes. Might be a nerf patch as most say, but much needed nerfs, or do all anyone care about is being OP?
Very nice can't wait but I can still see a majority of the builds using Iron Reflexes, Resolute Technique and the Blood Magic Gem.

Spell Totem and Ranged Attack totem now have multiplicative cast and attack speed penalties.

What does that mean in numbers???

if you had 80% cast speed bonus before you totem would have

(1.8-.3) = 1.5 50% cast speed bonus

now it will have

(1.8)*(1-.3) = 1.26 26% cast speed bonus

if you have 0% cast speed its exactly the same as before. So the more cast speed you have, the more this change affects you.

Thats a huge nerf for me. :(

His calculations are wrong. With 30% less cast speed you loose more than half.
GGG likees to nerf and change ridiculous shit.

Vaal Pact no longer suppresses life recovery from flasks. It still prevents life regeneration and now also reduces your leech by 60%

uh-oh.

could spell big trouble for CI builds.

there are boosts to ES, and you do get flasks, so we'll see.

if this nerfed my reave shadow, i will not be amused...
Very intuitive changes, expected nearly all of these.

Spell/Ele Damage Buffs, Crit Multi nerfs. Obvious. :P

I'd love to be that guy on Standard that's been hording BoRs in the hopes of it going Legacy, even in spite of everyone saying he's crazy.. That guy is rich now! :P

PS. The 6, 12, 18 Support Levels on new BoR, appeases my OCD. :3

Well lvl 12 faster attacks no quality 36% attack speed lvl 20 faster attack speed 20% quality 54% attack speed. That's a huge difference.

Except it was 18, not lvl20/20q.
Level 18 -> 42%
Level 12 -> 36%
That's 6% less. With the berserking passive that's 9% less attack speed. Hardly gamebreaking.

Bought a 291/218 BoR 4 days ago when clearing the currency I had from the domination merge. Too bad I'll never use it for anything else than testing builds because standard is bleh...

The lifeleech nerf/buff is kinda weird, it seems to buff huge hits and nerf builds relying on fast multihits (like firestorm), not sure about what to think on this one.

Change to trees, I'm not commenting either, waiting to see if PewPewPew incinerate build is still viable with all the scion change !

I love the summoners whining about their "only top 10# build efficiency", when some builds like self cast arc or bow elemental hit sit in the forgotten realm of not even nerfed builds because who care.
(Arc builds might be a real thing with vaal arc though :D)

I'm definitely planning to hunt all those 60 new bosses and throw currency on strongboxes (+1 unique mirroring strongbox will likely drop some crown of thorns but that'll be fun :p).

I find the fact that some (1?) unique and one item type only drop from atziri a strong incentive to go to the very endgame, even if it might take a while.

Keep up the good work GGG!
(And please release the passive tree several hours before the patch is live !)

It's seriously problematic that the only permanent league is getting completely wrecked by legacy items. It would be fine if there was another option for permanent characters where the itemization isn't destroyed by this constant influx of unobtainable, overpowered items, but there isn't. What happened to the promises of many different leagues? Outside of races, the only options are the joke dumping grounds that nobody takes seriously, or 4-month leagues which feel pointless once they're halfway through. PoE marketed itself on being the ARPG with player-designed leagues and many options for playing modes, but that seems to have been a lie.

I agree with this sentiment. I'm fine with legacy items existing, but it's clear that standard/hardcore are in fact just dumpster leagues by design.

That's unfortunate. I do play the races and 4 month leagues, however I'd like my characters to eventually end up in a good permanent league, not the dumpster ones.

So yeah, we need some sort of better permanent parent league options than what we have.

Let there be legacy items in legacy leagues, fine, but I don't wanna be thrown in that dump.

yeah- it disappoints me to no end that a accuracy/crit based mara is completely impractical.

reaching all the crit/accuracy nodes you would need would leave you with a squishy mara.

too bad. i hope to be able to do it one day.

2H mace with crit ! you can dream...
