Content Update 0.5.0 — Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients
" yea so apparently "crafted modifiers" are specific pools...limited to essences, alloys, desecrations (although not anymore) and maybe something else i cant think of. the wording/classification of that is not clear whatsoever i completely agree. also good point on essences/mods that also annul. perhaps this is an attempt to break the guaranteed easy path to broken item crafting. it might actually be a huge W Last edited by Tilt3d#7316 on May 25, 2026, 10:58:23 AM

" You describe SSF as a "challenge mode" and you're surprised when other people don't think of it this way. I'm explaining how other people might think of SSF - "I want to do X and I expect game to be fair and playable". It might be wrong but it's not inherently illogical, it's just not how PoE is (as you find out a few hundred hours later). I don't "chose challenge", I just prefer a game without trading. Which happens to be challenging, currently. As for the crafting changes, I don't mind them, let's see the new metacrafts first. |

" I hope all those ppl who is loud in the feedback section, advocating for destructive changes to the game are not the playerbase as well and will dissappear when 0.5 drops Last edited by default_mp3#9394 on May 25, 2026, 11:07:54 AM

" you judge something you havent tested yet. You have no idea what 0.5 will be like and you seem to have dropped the pants long before you have reached the river... I might write a post about the changes not beeing good when I play 0.5 as a feedback but calling GGG employes names and act like children (not you speficically but read some of the comments here) is out of place... Most of the ppl here have played the game for so many hours for such little price with the promise of future free game for everyone yet ppl demand things like little chilren demand candy in a candy store... |

" Softcore trade is easier than softcore SSF, which is easier than hardcore trade, which is easier than hardcore SSF. Why would you contest that this is a fact ? If you wanna be a good player then play as a good player that's it ! And softcore trade is certainly not the best place for that. |

" I am not only surprised, but also give arguments in favor of my surprise and misunderstanding of the motives and expectations of some SSF players. And it's wrong to say "I want to do X and I expect the game to be fair and playable" in relation to playing in SSF mode, because your desire will be fully justified only in normal mode! Because when you start in SSF mode, you are literally told in PLAIN TEXT that it will be more difficult, that the game is balanced taking into account the trading market and the exchange between players. Earlier, you mentioned wanting to play SSF as a way to ignore such motives as "uh this might be valuable to other people," you can run your little craft projects.", but I had similar feelings and desires in normal mode, without having to play SSF. And many of my friends have it. Perhaps, as a player who has played 3150 hours in poe 2, I do not understand this, because I have not played in poe 1 after all... who knows. Community is split 50/50 on the crafting changes, therefore don't expect them to take the change back.
It will stay this way, move on. | |
" Yes, you also need to play 0.5 to evaluate the changes with an understanding of the NEW patch content. You can complain when the old stuff is being removed, but what about the new stuff? The only thing that upsets me in such cases is that the value of the item and the expectations of receiving it are offset by such changes. Now that I've found the prisoner of essences on the map, I won't be happy to meet him, but I'll just run past disappointed. It's always frustrating. This crafting change could be quite horrible.
I was really hoping for more scenarios in .5 where I dont have to spend thousand upon thousands of divines whittling and omen of light spamming an item to only sitll not have the mods I was looking for. This change kind of seems like it's going to lead us farther down the path of endlessly wasting currency into a full gamble crafting system to not even be able to craft the item we wanted at the end of the day. After playing mirage 3.28 as my first poe1 league I cannot be more upset with the gamble crafting lose lose situation of endgame crafting in poe2 at the moment. Really hoping this change doesnt continue to nerf and randomize crafting for regular people who want to play fun off meta builds they have a hard time even finding correctly crafted items for. There are multiple builds I homebrew regularly that I literally cannot find the gear I want for on the market and I'm quite scared I wont be able to even approach crafting that gear myself with any type of benefit/gain margin. Good chance I will end up tinkering around on poe1 for the next few months and just not mess with the horrible lottery crafting of poe2. |
