So you add hundreds of runes to craft and then limit them to one per item? Nice idea.
Maybe limit our passive tree to 1 notable and 1 keystone at a time?
Why not limit our skills to 1 support gem?

That's the whole point, once you hit endgame you didn't need to farm anything at all. Essentially, with a more or less good base, you could instantly craft a very powerful item through essences. So, why do you even need to search anything else if you skipped that phase, going straight from good items to ideal ones?


That's not true in SSF. You still have a lot of RNG, you still need to hit proper mods. GG crafts are not 100% deterministic, you lack the resources SSF to do so, you only get few tries, assuming you don't play 1000 hours. For example I never hit a good fracture last league.

Yes, no one will flame about it if you can actually find something useful on the ground. But everything you find is basically trash. And it's so due to the mod pool that is present since idk 2012.
So GGG Want us to play 6 months of totems that will abuse 100% crit(with infernalist) 80% more crit damage( Grinning Immolation + Pain Attunement + Coward's Legacy), archmage, and free costs? I dont want to play game like this.

Speaking of absolute and relative item power, they're two different things. The relative power of items with essences dropped from drops was simply colossal, which basically leads to you not caring about the items anymore and only looking for essences and bases. It's not that all loot themselves must be ideal—that would be stupid—but rather how your relative power grows depending on item drops. With essences, it didn't really grow at all, because you got such powerful items immediately with them that most of the items automatically became junk. Even if they were stronger relative to your old gear, they would still be many times weaker compared to gear collected through essences.

So you are just KILLING crafting, and making it one of the worst crafting systems of ANY rpg?

We NEEDED that crafting to be able to even get resistances on gear, without guarenteed crafts we will go back to barely even a single resistance.

Fuck this, I am not even entirely sure I want to play anymore.

That was about essences; its practically guaranteed the creation of very good equipment, especially weapons.

The best part of Poe2 is crafting during the campaign and endgame. That's how you feel you are leveling at the same time.
Can't believe they nerf it. If there are no replacement methods or a worse method to do so, I will be extremely disappointed.
