Content Update 0.5.0 — Path of Exile 2: Return of the Ancients

Decreasing the efficiency of crafting through guaranteed mod items increases the value of all drops what you find on maps, and also increases orb consumption

"All crafted modifiers are now guaranteed, but items can only have 1 crafted modifier at a time. Desecrated modifiers no longer count as crafted modifiers, but items are limited to 1 Desecrated modifier."

So after this change, how am I supposed to craft a decent weapon in SSF?
I don't play trade cos it is just done after few days.
If this change goes thru the SSF is RIP.

Thanks, GGG. Before the season even started, all my excitement was gone. You can play by yourselves now. Why would you make such a ridiculous change when there was so much hype around the season?
I have seen a lot but the amount of dumb answers there are on that crafting change is through the roof between the doomers and the trolls we've got it all.

This change will minimally impact the big crafters and RMTs has their gameplay revolve solely around that. They will always find a way to go around and find a way to manipulate the market or at the very least focus on tactics to maximize profit.

This is not the case of the majority of the player base focusing on playing the game.

This is absolutely not the case of SSF players.

If at least GGG was smart enough to give a bit more detailed about it. Like :" We know it might hurt a part of the crafting but we have other ways to compensate."
But nah it's so much better to let everyone loose in the forums...

Also as best practice you never adapt a game for the .1% Only Blizzard is doing that. You make enjoyable for 80%, you know the pareto rule.

Randomness is the bane of RPGs, there are absolutely no need for it as it's already embedded in the game itself. (You have to find the weapon with a good base and you already have another layer through affixe tiering)

It seems to be again an attempt to inflate game time to hide from the fact that the Campaign serves as a run track for endgame where the endgame will be eventually so repetitive that it will be boring.

Dropping items from monsters is the basis of all arpg

Yeah and how do you think PoE2 is doing in that matter?
Do you think dropping items from mobs is, if not good, at least decent for power increase (another pillar of RPGs)?

If it's yes, I'd love to hear how?
If it's no, I'd love to see where in the patchnote they improved that?

Guaranteed item crafting completely devalues item drops, making almost everything look like junk except for the white base item, and that's only because crafting is possible. So I understand why the developers are doing this if they wanted to increase the value of loot in the game.
wtf actually big good change, now acquiring gear may be more fun and game will be in "challenging" state for little bit longer.

That's the whole point, once you hit endgame you didn't need to farm anything at all. Essentially, with a more or less good base, you could instantly craft a very powerful item through essences. So, why do you even need to search anything else if you skipped that phase, going straight from good items to ideal ones?

Besides, it's still too early to say what will happen with crafting, since new crafting through runes is being added and it's not clear how strong it will be and perhaps it will compensate for these changes. Or rather, these changes are being introduced because crafting through runes will be very strong, so you need to wait for the release and see for yourself how and what.
