Apologies, pulled this from a few pages back and it looked you had said it, but it's possible I was quoting someone that quoted someone you quoted who quoted someone else.....

This forum is really clunky in that manner, or not user friendly. Anyway, has happened to me before and it annoys me when a quote is misattributed to me. I edited my comment to say quoting 'someone'.

Cheers, and lets add it to the pile of things it would be nice if they upgraded or improved.
Shame about the totem playstyle (not the free part, the sane cost part), that was a brief spark of inspiration to play this league after skipping the last.
Absolutley depressing, 75 spirit cost for a totem is insane, and ggg making a big mistake addind mana costs, alot of ppl including me were happy to start new league with totems, now they are completly garbage (as before), doubling totem limit is a nerf too before you had only the spirit issue and mana issue now you have 3 issues (spirit, mana, maximum totem mods)

Im speechless how afraid they are, so many op builds and they make this change?
How do you expect people to recoup mana when totems aren't effected by any mana recoup methods?? You literally turned a beginner friendly into a build you're required to grind 50 hour just to solve for mana! All because of this asinine game development strategy that requires you to use a mana flask THAT DOESN'T SCALE WITH YOUR MANA POOL MAKING IT EFFECTIVELY USELESS WITH MANA SCALING. I wanted to like POE2, I really did lol.
I dont understand why when nerfing or buffing something GGG tends to ether kill or make something opaf....

Whatever you think of doing just cut it in half and see how it works then buff or nerf it again..We are in early access after all
GGG, please, please, please tell me this was implemented with proper exclusions:

"Many Skills which had no cost now cost 0 Mana, meaning that they can now gain additional costs. This includes default weapon Attacks, item-inherent Skills, and any Triggered Skills from Support Gems and other sources."

The one that I am thinking of that stands out the most is the Shaman Ascendency

Furious Wellspring
No Inherent loss of Rage
Regenerate 6% of your maximum Rage per second
Increases and Reductions to Mana Regeneration Rate also apply to Rage Regeneration Rate
Skills have +5 to Rage cost
+7 to Maximum Rage

Some shamans spend 4 points just for this node and the downside of the rage cost is only mitigated by the fact that basic attacks DONT get the added rage cost. If this change applies here, it guts this entire ascendancy.

100% cost efficiency could've been a middle ground. Significant but not scalable much further. Or even new nodes in/next to the scattered totem clusters allowing cost reduction to 0, with investment. No; the 180 only spared the subject of the complaints.

There is this line in Skills section actually:

Skills which have a cost of 0 Mana now display this cost. This allows players to distinguish between skills like default attacks which do not have a cost at all (and are thus unaffected by any + cost modifiers), from those which do have a base cost, but with 0 base value (which are affected by all +cost modifiers, even if they add different resource costs, like adding life cost to a skill with base mana cost 0).
