I ran rarity support with a couple buddies, we had a blast doing it. Now I have a guild that HAD members who were looking forward to being support because it was a another way to enjoy playing together and doing something different outside of just damage.

I get RMT is an issue and I agree it needs to be dealt with but this all blew up because temple was broken and the devs already said it was broken but would have caused more frustration if they implemented the patch to stop the snake strategy and decided to just let it happen. Party and rarity wasn't an issue until temple which has been fixed.

What's next after they remove party bonus if that keeps being pushed, when will the line be drawn?




Exactly. They fixed the issue with Temple, so we can't snake it anymore (until someone finds a way around it).

But the fact that they want to discourage party play like people don't already have an issue with finding friends to run with is ridiculous.

I understand that there are things that need to be fixed, but the ordeal that they fix the main issue but still nerf the shit out of support roles in general is dumb. Not everyone wants to be a dps.

Idk if GGG will read these or not, but I hope they do and listen to the damn player base better. Nobody asked for the changes to support-based roles. We just asked for a fix to the economic bullshit that came about last season.
Guess be skipping another season. 90% support gems suck or not used. There's only a small handful that are good. Everything keeps getting nerfed instead of fixed. Ill wait for poe 1 to come out with a new season. Ill go find something worth my down time.

Everyone finds fun in different things.
As for me it's super fun not to just spam OP stackable properties and do the content without any effort.
Basis of every MMO are roles, tanks, DPS, healers, support, etc. PoE is not an MMO but party mapping is super similar to, say, WoW raids. You can't take all DPS party and be cool.

It's the most fun to create a balanced party that really works. Idk, for example one dude has all nodes and gear focused on Freeze/Chill (Shock, whatever) buildup/magnitude. And another guy has all his nodes focused to deal maximum damage to Shocked/Chilled/Frozen enemies. And there can be numerous combinations.
But looks like majority who say "party play is dead" just want the easiest way, stack the most broken stuff and have "fun".
I'm glad GGG is doing what they're doing!
Gravebinders nerf is bad move: no party shared rarity, no shared headhunter in parties. Makes another niche unique into complete garbage, given 50% rarity is average available for all builds. Make it at least +50-75% rarity and shared and then it will eb a good item, and I mean, not giving +50% rarity, but CAP rarity at 50-75% and share it group.

Or at least need compensating buff of group play. Because playing in group is too easy and gives no reward. No effort, no reward, except we get to the strongest bosses and then all ailment builds just stop working because boss HP scaling and rewards are still almost the same as for solo play and even worse, because solo gets 5 items from boss, in group you get 7-8 items split by group. So, why would I now play in group with my set of 75-80% rarity rings-amulet if monster TTK is the same solo as group, rewards solo are better and more numerous, bosses are more balanced and so more fun to fight with. So yeah, I agree, group play is dead now, unless you play with your best friend and don't care about gameplay and game in general.

All other changes in 0.5 look fine, except warrior nerfs (Why? maces already slow sluggish garbage) and missing nerfs for twisters (too OP for no investement, should be weaker at lower levels and same at 90+ level full-endgame equipped character).

It's not about doing the "most broken thing and being cool". You missed half of my post's point. You can make the most broken solo play build by building a character taking all the points you need to be self sufficient and make insanely more progress then any party play.

Playing in a party is by far "the easiest way" and anyone who claims it is, either doesn't understand the effort it takes, or the amount of teamwork required to pull it off. In a party of 4 that's 4 times the amount of gear to obtain/craft, 4 times the amount of effort to level, and if you think it truly generates 4 times the amount of loot...

Saying its broken and easy is a lazy comparison because people have friends and want to play together. Its that simple. These nerfs discourage playing with friends, in an online ARPG.....
I'm seeing so many people bashing on party play and how "easy" it is and that it's a busted way to game.

Here's the things y'all don't realize for those of us who ENJOY party play.

We don't care about broken builds, we care about having fun with our friends in the game.

We don't make things "easy" we make them better. Solo play really sucks for some people, and they just want a group to run with to have more fun. Doesn't mean its easy.

Party play is how some people have acquired things for builds, or compounded ideas to help other players improve on their existing builds, not just build the most OP shit from the gate.


Maybe some of the shit GGG is doing is right for some people who play their OWN way, but stop bashing other people and the way they want to play just because you don't agree with it.

Party play nerf deserved and not enough, for each person in party party should receive a loot penalty or map entering cost should be multiplied by 6 in some way.

Btw, check all these freshly spawned multibox accounts with zero support packs whose AI shitposting tries to defend party play — the most unfair and toxic system since the existence of PoE.

"Buuuut uniques will be more expensive for the average Joe if party play is nerfed!" — Yeah, adjusting drop rates based on their vision of what an item should cost sounds truly impossible.

"But I want to play with my friends!" — No one prohibited you from doing that, and they added QOL for party players for 0.5.
