threads like this never ever fail to be people like OP conflating a bunch of cherry picked quotes with their personal definition of words like 'meaningful'.
you are either intentionally abusing context or completely ignorant to it.
not sure why anyone expected a POE game to have the pace of grim dawn, no rest or runescape but it was never ever going to be that.
POE2 was made for POE customers (shocking).

I don't think that's true personally, in general, ppl really like to feel like they're productive and optimal, but like Cyranis said, the only optimal way to play and progress in poe 2 is by pulling the slot machine lever as many times as you can, aka "gotta go fast"
You need to stop stating your personal opinions as objective truths. The conflation's unbearable and I personally couldn't give a fuck if I'm being productive or optimal, if players did truly care about these things above all else literally noone would play melee/would've played melee. Levelling barb or shapeshift druid in D2 was pure agony and pain but players endured because they knew they could get cyclone at the end of the tunnel.
There's plenty of players that play for the gameplay feel over slot machine debauchery.

I couldn't care less about being optimal or what other people are building. I care about making interesting sounding characters and having fun.

They literally said "I don't think..." explicitly framing the comment as an opinion not a statement of fact. Your conflation and snobbery is unbearable.

Yeah dunno bout this take friend. Cherry picking usually involves taking one or very few out of context quotes/pieces of evidence then taking that ball and running with it disingenuously. OP provided multiple relevant pieces of evidence, with some direct citations/links.
You've offered nothing but an opinion, without a single piece of evidence of similar quality to refute the OP's claims. Giving this round to the OP sorry.

Yea the combat was way more fun in .1 and the more tactical skill combat was what drew me to POE2 in the first place. Now its just turning into a zoomfest like every other ARPG with meaningless bloated ground loot even with a loot filter.

While I don't think the state rn is ideal or anything, I also think there are improvements from 0.1... I dont wanne full combo every single white mob or get onetapped by some white witch monster in the start of the game, or get jumped and stunlocked to death in the last act 2 area, or get oneshot by a offscreen mob casting a fireball in my face... They improved a lot of bs mechanics.
But yea, rares could be more than scary statsticks that you wanne oneshot before they can touch you and I'm not sure if I like their multiple-bossfights - like some boss combinations will be just terrible to fight against if you cant kill them fast enough...

All the patch notes for the game are still here for you to reference.
Regards.

I agree there have been some improvements, white mobs were to strong at first and the stun lock thing sucked. Fighting 5 bosses sounds cool but its gonna be impossible to see anything which has become more and more of a problem already.
