Tired of patches that are destroying the fun of the game

If you don't play the game, how do you even know what you are criticizing? Why would anyone take you seriously? As for balance, we shouldn't think of it as a binary state.
What I agree with is that ggg is too harsh with a lot of the nerfs. Prime example is dd, it wasn't just nerfed, it was completely nuked (but I don't mind). Optimizing this game is undoubtedly an NP-hard problem. Years of having access to ridiculously overpowered low effort mapping strategies - no major complaints. Now that gets taken away and you're having a hissyfit, game bad, waaawaaa. [Replace above example with a nerf of your choice] We are at least getting changes to this game, whether for "better" or for "worse". Criticism is important, but it should be firstly informed and secondly void of these unnecessary extremities. I also get that binary world views are computationally easier to handle, but that doesn't imply they reflect reality. |

" You asked why would anybody take me seriously? Because I have been playing this game since the beginning before there were any endgame maps before 10 acts etc... Me quiting this game like a month ago does not mean that I know nothing about the game. There is a lot good things with this game but I have pointed out the balance problem. You dont like pointing out one bad thing I dont care I will still pointed out. |

I know people who have been playing this game since the start who have never made their own build or experienced real endgame content. Having been around for a while gives little weight to your argument and it's a cheap appeal to authority argument as I can demonstrate by perusing your profile:
On a quick glance in your illustruous 10 year time of playing this game You haven't defeated Atziri You haven't defeated the Maven You haven't socketed 4 Voidstones in your Atlas The last time you played a temporary league was Settlers which, despite its long runtime, you finished with 14 challenges complete. Before that, you finished Affliction with 13 challenges. Before that? Expedition with 7 challenges. You are blowing your experience way out of proportion. Some people finish that many challenges in one sitting, and they talk smaller game. While I can sympathise with some of your grievances, given your non-existing level of engagement, may I call into question why you think anyone should listen to you? The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge. Last edited by ArtCrusade#4438 on Dec 8, 2025, 3:53:43 AM

On the contrary, I would like specific examples instead of arguing endlessly in the abstract. There are things that I also don't like about the league, does that necessitate making a rant post that achieves close to nothing? [as an alternative to making a list of suggestions in the suggestions area]

" Ohhh you are one of those :D Ohhh sorry master that I havent played the game the way to complete some arbitrary challenges :D Ohhh sorry master that my thousands of hours way more than a lot of content creators means nothing because you dont see checkbox of some challenges :D |
|
" I play games the way I want to play them but I quess you love those checkboxes way more than I do. All power to you but I was never the person that was chasing some achievements in games. Again my expirience might be different from yours but that doesnt mean that I know nothing about this game. Sure if I was talking about Atziri or Maven than I would be fool because I have never defeated them and it was never my goal to begin with. I have enjoyed experimenting with different gems and builds thats what I have enjoyed and thats why I have seen a lot of balance problems with this game across multiple years. |

Who are you trying to convince. The reader or yourself?
|
|
" I am not trying to convince anybody of anything. I am just explaining that if somebody wants to play games certain way thats fine but expecting that every person is going to play the game same way is a bit insane. |
|
|
But that is not the argument - you don't have to play the same way. You most likely won't. Strawmanning is not necessary.

" Look dude, it's simple. You made an appeal to authority by postulating you have been playing the game for 10 years, and I used available evidence to show that when put into perspective, it doesn't surmount to much. Those things I listed are basic "checkboxes" any half-competent player completes. You don't have to complete your Atlas but the fact that you didn't but claim your opinion on endgame balance should be heard, is telling. That's all I said. @xaerobb: Are you trying to make a point that no one should be criticised for making easily disprovable claims? It is only 'personal' insofar someone made a claim, and I dismantled it. Now, can we stay civil? The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.
