Tired of patches that are destroying the fun of the game
" That's the worst thing you can do. Instead of destroying builds that people enjoy they should buff underperforming builds. More viable builds would be... better? No? It's so common sense to me that I can't even fathom the argument that instead of creating more viable builds, they should nerf viable builds to change the meta. It's absolutely ridiculous. Want a good example? Check out Project Diablo 2. Instead of nerfing working builds, they actually continually work on improving non-viable builds. What a concept! It's actually fantastic having more builds to check out and possibly enjoy playing. But hey, just keep nerfing until the morale improves. Right? Right? /boggle The nerfs will continue until morale improves.

" This is exactly what I was wanting to point out the whole time but you cant explain this to these fanatics that have 18+ hours a day to do nothing else than sit and play video games because they are still kids. Only adults with jobs and responsibilities will understand this. |

" The concept of only buffing is only a solution short term, it's incredibly detrimental to long term content. That is literally how you get scope and power creep. Nerfing is essential; it's blanket nerfs with no regard to collateral that are the culprits. A great example would be the absolutely nonsensical nerf to The Feared, changing the entire invitation into a quest chain hunting monstrosity with no actual afterthought, as indicated by the fact how they had to scramble to find a "fix" for the missing Chayula after their fantastic "rework". I don't blame the devs for making an "oopsie", but it also does show that the passion resides elsewhere. There's a lot of these "oopsies" happening for a while now. " Why is everybody going into extreme scenarios? Nobody said that from now on only buffs for everything. Can you imagine that they will put ALL the skill gems on the same power level? There would be no meta this and non-meta that. Can you imagine that you would not have to read patch notes if they nerfed to the ground melee builds again or if they nerfed minion builds to the point that it would require from player to spend insane amount of divines on crafting or straight mirror trading in order for Animate Guardian to be used again in high level juiced maps? Can you imagine having a freedom to ACTUALLY choose the build and skill gem without worring if you have enough time to afford 100+ mirror worth of items to get that build up and running? No you cannot imagine that and thats why you and others post comments like that because you and others play only this game and dont know what a good balance in game looks like. |

Complaining about going into extremes and then making hyperbolic statements about needing 100+ mirrors of investment for certain skills to work is crazy.
Saying everyone else just doesn't understand how good balance looks like is just the cherry on top. Must say I'm a little disappointed with you. You seemed much more reasonable before but this take ain't it. The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

I actually agree that Minions needs a drastic change. I'm tired of every Minion build using Cluster jewels and essentially the same items, dealing Lightning or going Poison. It's exactly why I don't play them.
Barely any support on the tree, everything comes from crafting, and it's mainly because it's all generic scaling. If we had specialized nodes that provided something along the lines of "Minions have 4% increased Melee Attack Speed" and "Minions deal 10% increased Projectile Damage" etc. and more of it, giving us increased variety, they could actually buff them invidiually rather than having 1 generic modifier that affects everything, with the downside being scarcity and blanket nerfs. There are other games that do a better job at it. I actually enjoyed playing minion builds in Grim Dawn, aka. "pets". Not the greatest due to their lack of variety in minions themselves, but still better than PoE's current implementation. Animate Guardian, auras, Minion levels, Poison/Doryani's, aura Minions and buffs galore. It's all the same shit every time. I want my Impale Dervishes back. It's been years since that has actually been good. Edit: To elaborate a bit further in case you haven't ever played Grim Dawn, your pets aka. minions can also utilize or trigger certain skills that then scale with their damage. Devotions, let's call them secondary skills, can be triggered by your pets. So, you could have a minion that triggers a firestorm or shoots out a cascade of ice spears, etc. And you could switch them between them; they weren't only their own abilities. You could also make it so that minions would trigger a conditional buff that applies to everyone around them. No need for an Animate Guardian that essentially serves the same purpose with a full gear set. " Wait a second I have to pull out an calculater and price every single build in order to look good in your eyes :D I know that it was hyperbolical with 100+ mirrors the point is that certain builds are just way too insane to get up and running in comparison to other builds. You can be disappointed with me as much as you want to. I dont know you and I dont care about you. |

" That isn't even remotely what I said. Can't say I have much sympathy for spiteful bad faith arguments, so the feeling is mutual then. 👋 The opposite of knowledge is not illiteracy, but the illusion of knowledge.

" A few skills don't need buffs, that's obvious, but when the majority of skills are just broken window dressing to fill gem tabs, there's a problem. And nerfing fun, usable skills instead of buffing the ones that aren't makes it even worse. This is a failed viewpoint and a failed developer strategy. I don't know how anyone can argue in favor of fewer working and fun skills but it never ceases to amaze me that people do. And more, to use the cover of "changing the meta" as some kind of magic buzzwords for justifying more nerfs is... well insanity to me. But whatever. The horse has long been dead and severely beaten post mortem. The nerfs will continue until morale improves.
