The simultaneous development of POE1 and POE2 isnt working
" Problem with this overall is that there's a very large audience expectation for what an ARPG should be. Generally from gamers who never played the pre-Diablo 2 ones. These are the same players like Darthmicrotransaction who will go back to Diablo 1 to try it out, only play normal skipping it's end-game but then go to Diablo 2 and play it until Hell/Hell. GGG themselves have helped mold expectations of what people think an ARPG should be. The two PoE games aren't much different and that's actually what has made players like myself understand they're not trying to make something different while correcting design mistakes. They're just making a new version of the same game with the same mistakes. "Never trust floating women." -Officer Kirac

" This 0.3.1 patch was released to test things with us. League hype was over, most players quit or became casual. Perfect timing to release something to gather data. This is just an usual early access behavior. I hope they test tons of shit things and discard most of them on the way, instead of releasing things to make us happy Last edited by zepberonha#9748 on Oct 20, 2025, 8:51:03 PM

" That is not how Early Access works. You dont release an experimental patch and then basically do nothing anymore for over a month. Yes testing experimentla stuff after peak player numbers is totally fine. But then just leaving the game like that isnt. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.”

" Saying "early access so we can forgive anything" is a scam. This game is 200 hours long with enough content for at least 5 different FULL games. We have 0 power over this game development, and that's entierely normal. If people want change, then pay the 1 millon dollars and make important phone calls. |

Because it isn't EA. This is the game, simple as that.
GGG's cycle has been the same for years. -Release a league -3-4 weeks to patch out the "major" issues -GGG Disappears - "It is what it is" for the next 3 months, until next league That is what we got. Except, now that 4 months is 2... Let's not forget they essentially abandoned PoE1 for a year to reach even this point. Dropped the last patch full of bugs and technical issues and disappeared. I have no doubt the developers work hard, but the logistics never added up. |

I agree so now we have less leagues in POE1 and development resources wasted on another game.
They should soon come up with the merge idea for the games and continue with POE1 experince . |

If they fail to make separate teams, they should leave poe1 to die and focus on poe2.

This post, and posts like it, assume that the games are being developed "simultaneously"
Or in other words: with the SAME people. That development of one game is actively taking resources from the other. I don't actually think that's happening....at least not anymore. There is a dedicated PoE 2 development team and a SEPARATE dedicated PoE 1 development team. It's only "simultaneous" in that both are being done within the "GGG" company. But that means nothing. The only thing thats skewed are dates: GGG is notorious for simply not leaving themselves enough time. We get untested products with issues because they rush it out to fit their rushed schedule. Starting anew....with PoE 2 Last edited by cowmoo275#3095 on Oct 26, 2025, 6:12:46 PM

" If thats the case, then that doesnt make it better. There are still no fixes to the game. That raises the question wtf is happening. Cause stuff is bugged and broken or simply unfun and there is still a lot of people playing and still a long time to go in the league. “The bird of Hermes is my name, eating my wings to make me tame.” Last edited by Alzucard#2422 on Oct 26, 2025, 8:22:20 PM
