Build variety my ass. Game has too many arbitrary and unnecessary restrictions.
passionate builder here. i dont understand why they dont throw in some new skills. got to quit the leage, nothing for me to do here :(

its a bit sad how restrictive poe2 is, in the beginning we were coping that this is for balance reasons but we can clearly see that its not.

I constantly feel I'm punished for theory crafting. Just saw they changed toxic domain to only work on certain weapons, Seriously why? Flame wall works on any type of projectile as far as I can tell, living bomb can use any type of damage to detonate, in my opinion all combo skills and supports should work like them and have absolutely minimal requirements. Not only should toxic domain work for any player projectiles, it should also work on melee hits within the area and it should also work for minions attacks, that's how arpgs are supposed to work.
There's a support skill that lets your projectile hits drop caltrops, you probably had no idea it existed because it only works for projectile spear skills. How the hell can that restriction be justified? |

PoE2 is absolutely not by any stretch the first ARPG to gate certain abilities behind certain armor or weapon types. I would wager in fact that the majority of ARPGs have some kind of equipment-based constraints on abilities. This is a staple of RPGs in general going all the way back to pen-and-paper roleplaying games (e.g., many classic games prevent Cleric/Priest-type characters from using many of their abilities if they wield an edged weapon). |

" If you have higher survivability clearspeed and dmg than a stat stacking gemling in 0.1 i wanna see that build. And the general clearspeed is slower in 0.3 thna in 01. " So lets use frost darts as an example. Rank 3 pierce gem. Excellent for allowing you to let darts hit multiple targets, as a significsnt issue with darts is needing to hit chilled / frozen targets. Issue being 5 mobs run towards you, you chill 3 now the 2 unchilled mobs run to melee range and darts cant pierce. So you end up hitting the unchilled mobs over and over and over again. Annoying design. Ok pierce fixes this, except now when you infuse frost darts. They wont lodge into targets to detonate. Because now they pierce....ok that sucks. Remember this skill ALREADY does minimal damage, and is single target, and cant apply chill / freeze itself. Now for the kicker. You make a build that is producing tons of frost infusions. Sweet. Time for those sweet explosions right? Well only if you dont KILL the monster your hitting. Because if it dies, nothing explodes even if you just loaded him full of exploding infused darts. The ENTIRE skill at all levels resists you using it the way its designed. And it makes you jump thru hoops to do it. Nobody is asking for 1 button screen clears. We just want skills to let us USE them without the redicilous restrictions. |

hey you should read the post.
Nobody asked for build advice or clarity on game mechanics. They said the game blows because it only has very few functional builds that you are forced to play because the game makes sure nothing else can possibly work... Do you see any build guides ... No Because the path as it were , has rails. I see the skill tree now as the skill twigs from diablo. just glue them together with really long paths of stats that will allow you to use the weapon they have planned for you .
