It's not fun anymore
I remember when you kill even a regular boss, you get a drop, even trash drops. Now, you usually don't even get anything?! WTF! Why are they making POE1 like POE2 now when it comes to drops?
GGG wants to be known for depriving loot drops in the game industry? You already have this rep with POE2. Is the loot only available in T17 maps or endgame? Is the Vision also being applied in POE1? Please don't. Take it off. Please return the FUN in playing. We came to PLAY and not to be thought of hard lessons in life. We already have the actual real life giving us lessons in life. " You should maybe play through the campaign before critiquing the drops. The drops are fine, in both PoE1 and PoE2. We're talking about how the general gameplay of PoE1 has incentivized a mindless one-click screen clear due to emphasis on offense. The foundational ideas behind PoE2 regarding the gameplay are better. Everything wrong with PoE2 comes from when they attempt to make it too much like PoE1. Sadly, because of the way the community is behaving, they need to ignore the player base and filter out the popular bandwagon of hate, and commit themselves to a better version of the game, because a bulk of the players don't seem to be intelligent enough to discern what is actually better for the game. |

" the issue runs much deeper than that. This game needs to be balanced not against an average player with average gear like it was in good'ol days, but an average player copying a team of carrier exploiters that profit from showcasing their exploits to as big of an audience as possible, which also brings the game publicity. This player also has access to status quo minimal friction trading imposed by similar rpgs. wearing near perfect items even at the end of campaign, all synergized and min maxed by the aforementioned. This balance involves having enough mobs delivered fast enough to entertain the player all while he clears entire screen with every step. This is a vicious circle I don't think a game can come out of- even Ruthless version of PoE1 is affected by this since its still the same skeleton just with some limitations. Would I personally like this to change? yes. I just highly doubt it will, just look at what type of nerfs we've seen in the past 6 months, and what type of build is currently most popular... I cant get into PoE1 anymore because of how absurd the scaling of endgame content is. %map modifier effect was a mistake. Archnemesis mods that ignore character defences was a mistake. T17 and now T16.5 was a mistake. Trying to theorycraft around all that is a nightmare.
GGG keeps trying to power creep content further each league and its killing the games build diversity and balance. Its not "aspirational content" when its literally the only new thing for players to strive for, and when its what the endgame economy is balanced around. I really hope PoE2 doesnt go the same direction as PoE1 because this just feels awful no matter what build I play. |

I swear campaign is the only fun part where you get stronger and faster from moment to moment gameplay. the rest is a frikkin cold war against the GGG, who will kill who first.

Just chiming in to say that as a newish player (I started during Phraecia league) I'm glad it's not just me, lol. My favorite comment I've seen is "if you see them, you're already dead".
I still enjoy the game a lot, but I just have to laugh at the comically stupid one shots that you have no way of knowing what it is that killed you (not sure if there's a damage log somewhere like some other games have, I haven't seen anything that indicates there is, but I have been known to miss the obvious sometimes...) |
