Kingsmarch Going Core Thoughts

Ship mechanic can stay. Would obviously need a slight rework, but it'd be a nice addition overall, imo. A source for items you can "target farm" to a degree, i.e. tattoos, without getting a guaranteed reward.

Find a way to merge Kingsmarch with Heist. Certainly keep Faustus.

I hope it goes core, it would be also great to expand on with coming leagues/expansions. I like having something to do/build between maps. Also love the map runners using my unwanted maps and get rewards from it!
let it go core, if you don't want to interact with it you don't have to.

As is, it is far too valuable to leave untouched relative to most other mechanics in the game (perhaps all?)

It does a lot for very little time investment, with its output being largely meted by timesinking the outcomes (but that doesn't cost time on the player's behalf, which can thus be spent elsewhere). Ignoring it is a very large impact in a game where purchasing power matters in trade, and it's arguably even more important in solo.

Other activities are largely, if not entirely, trading one activity for another activity in a time for time basis, while much of settlers is not. As a result, the opportunity cost for settlers is far lower than it is in most or all other league mechanics, which should ostensibly be balanced against each other to allow you to focus on the ones you enjoy and ignore the ones you don't. This isn't always the case; certain things are clearly "required" for particular outputs, but in theory at least the choice is what type of output you want for your time, rather than the volume of output for your time. Kingsmarch has a large variety of output types, as well as a significantly higher output per time than most mechanics do currently.

Sure, nerf it appropriately so people that "don't want to" don't miss out on OP gear and currency acquisition. And that's the thing about "passive mechanics", as long as they're powerful, 'everyone' will feel the need to do them, and if they aren't powerful 'enough', they quickly become useless.

A mechanic that offers you deterministic mirror (shard) farming will never be "optional" in the grand scheme of things.

Not caring about the currency that other ppl make with whatever mechanic gives a much much better game experience.
i am not so convinced it's a bad idea to give ppl easy acces to currency.
Look i might have 8 hours per day to grind my fortune each league doesn't mean everyone has and this gave those players some nice currency to play around with.

I might agree here, it's not necessarily a bad idea per se, but doing it through a "passive" mechanic just adds to the FOMO. What's so bad about giving those "increased" rewards for killing monsters? It's not the increased gains I'm worried about here, it's gating them behind out-of-gameplay time-mechanics, adding that feeling of "if I'm not micromanaging this between every map, I'm missing out".

I see your point.
My opinion is purely academic anyway, i highly highly doubt it will go core as is if at all.

I highly doubt it too.

Gold will (clearly) go core based on the teasers. The Currency Exchange too, be that with Faustus or added to another NPC. But I think that's it.
