Kingsmarch Going Core Thoughts

I may have missed it, but appears that in addition to rune crafting going away they also took out disenchanting.

Added a new Atlas Passive Keystone - Refiner's Bargain: Equipment Items with Rarity dropped by Possessed Monsters in your Maps have 25% chance to be converted to Thaumaturgic Dust. Sulphite found in your Maps is granted as a random Ore instead at 25% of the value. Lifeforce found in your Maps is granted as a random Crop instead at 300% of the value.

That would directly affect shipments & recombination unless it was just not mentioned and this is additional.

Also curious about the worker skill levels being cut in half. In theory this makes them a lot easier to acquire skilled workers. Unless the ceiling of these workers is also capped.

Interested in seeing how all this plays out. It seems surprisingly untouched on the surface, which makes me think there is more that was not mentioned changed around costs. Particularly with gold.
forever stuck sending ships now this is the one thing i hate the most and it cant ne ignored either becuz its very profitable sending ships
I hope it will quickly come to light that they nerfed it to the ground. I have zero motivation to bother with dust crop distribution...never again ;P

I was OK at best with Kingsmarch a year ago, but not thrilled with the busy work and the unclear way of maximizing it (at first). Then in Phrecia I had learned all the tricks and did it correctly and pretty easily. Honestly if we had the old Kingsmarch in the upcoming league I would have been fine.
I think the interesting and maybe probative element of this and other "KM FOMO" threads is that the majority (not all) of haters have no supporter badges and the majority (not all) of supporters have quite a few. KM going core was the right call and they did address the FOMO by creating scarabs and Atlas passives to get the most out of it.

i suspect most people hide their supporter badges because they look dumb and occupy too much screen space just for sending a one liner comment

You wot m8. FOMO was because you had to constantly log in to resend ships and restock mappers, not because of ores.
They DID not address the biggest problem this league mechanic added.

And if it's still a deterministic source of mirror shards, scarabs, divines, tattoos, ward gear and whatnot, there's no "choice" at all - you'd be stupid not to utilize it, as it's a passive mechanic, unlike every other mechanic in the game. I'm VERY surprised that everyone can't see the problem with that, no matter if they like the mechanic or not.

But sure, if the Mercenary league mechanic can compete in terms of rewards, I'll gladly do that instead, but I think we're both know how that is going to go.

good that it can be switched off from the atlas

bad, that its still in the acts, from act6 and onwards ( ? )

GGG should have drop it for a long time from the game and could bring it back at from time to time, but exactly added to the new expansion, like it has its time for 1 year to be in the game now

you could mix up the mechanics from time to time, too

we will see how it goes

Because the same could be said about Heist/Sanctum/Ritual/Ultimatum etc.

You still won't get me to touch Sanctum. I'll maybe give Heist a shot this league, even though I haven't touched it since that league ended.

WHERE IS TOTA?!

The same could not be said about Heist/Sanctum/Ritual/Ultimatum, and that's the whole point here. A toddler could see the difference.

We just have to trust the atlas nodes and the time changes they've made to Settlers. Like Ritual, more or less useless without heavy investment on the tree. The only hope for Settlers to not feel mandatory, is if it requires so much investment on the tree, that you have to sacrifice something else - something you'd want to be doing. THAT makes it an option.

Sanctum requires time and preferably a dedicated build. Heist requires time and preferably a dedicated build. Settlers requires a few button presses, the rest you get from regular mapping you're already doing.
