Maximum Life Nodes
" There is no reason to have life on the tree and it doesn't solve anything. Either way strength characters get a lot more life baseline regardless. Last edited by Kashou#2868 on Jan 8, 2025, 9:21:02 PM

" If you're being literal yes, but if you're referring to EHP there's no node you can take that gives you +70% more EHP if you're purely a life build which should be a viable defensive option for players to build into. |
|
" This is only an issue because armour, endurance charges and max res from PoE1 don't have a functioning equivalent properly implemented in PoE2 yet. I have 2 posts talking about how resistances and armour need to be overhauled in order for players to have balanced and intuitive ways to invest into defense; if anyone is interested: Armour rework: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3667538 Resistance rework: https://www.pathofexile.com/forum/view-thread/3629096 |

That's fine. The problem is less with life and more with ES having too easy access to recovery and other op things.
The main benefit of a warrior is easy access to regeneration and leeching. Armour is just a regen multiplier really, and it's still good at keeping you alive coupled with block or evasion. But yes it is weaker against elements and big one shots which is fine. |

Access to leeching? What skill are you using that is making leech a worthwhile recovery source?
If you get hit 19 times during your attack animation you arent leeching while getting slapped. Last edited by Lonnie455Rich#2087 on Jan 8, 2025, 9:49:18 PM

In response to the OP without perusing much of the thread;
I overall agree, but wouldn't want it to get too much. I think the STR slice should have a few more +% Life, but I'm overall fine with life being heavily factored of your Level, Strength and Gear. But armor needs a touch of help at the moment, and giving a few of the Armor Nodes a flat +Life, or a mild +% Life as a secondary boost would help them. |

" That's a skill issue tbh you're not getting attacked 19 times during your attack animation unless you're trying to clear rituals with sunder. |
|
" Even with all the defensive layers of poe1 i wouldn't even consider a melee character without 6k+hp in early endgame, and 9k+ by level 90. On HC of course, SC players may be fine with 3k life. |

The whole passive tree need to receive a rework.
1. (Some) Ascendancy have too little impact on stats and passives 2. Defenses note type should not locked to each radians 3. Notable need to be stronger not in number but in function or usability 1. Ascendancy should have more than 1 point type, we can keep the current Ascendancy notes and points as "Major Ascendancy" and Introduce "Minor Ascendancy" as new resource. The Minor notes are focusing on stat and passive and less unique effect than major point, while also impactful to shape the character or build. You start level 1 with 1 Minor point and gain 1 more every 10 levels every Ascendancy will have 30 notes of Minor Ascendancy tree First 12 notes (lower half of the tree) are shared among base class, the rest (Top half of the tree) are more diverse between Ascendancy. The important port is these note have to NOT lock player to a certain build, these note has allow or promote build diversity / flexibility. 2. Defenses note type should not locked to each radians 3. notable being just a bigger number of small note are lazy and boring. some of existing note are doing good but most of them are not. Good example of Notable notes 1. Climate change 20% increased Freeze Buildup Gain 25% of Cold Damage as Extra Fire Damage against Frozen Enemies 2. Vengeful Fury Gain 5 Rage when Hit by an Enemy Every Rage also grants 1% increased Armour 3.Catalysis 20% increased Elemental Damage with Attacks 5% of Physical Damage from Hits taken as Damage of a Random Element These notable are providing extra functions to the build, not just bigger numbers from small notes we need these with all notable, go a head nerf the small notes if the power budget on passive tree need to be adjusted but Notables need to be "Notables" |

" Yep. If they didn't want life to come from the passive tree, they should've made that for ES, also. |
