One death per map needs to go

I prefer 1 death map. No more 6 portal as a defense layer. Rush, throw traps, die, repeat. No more cheesing bosses that way either. It's punishing, yes. I'm fine with it. |

Disagree.
With 6 portals (or even more than MAYBE two), people just brute force maps they have no business running. It acts as a defensive layer for your character. You will feel compelled to try and run every map even when you know you will repeatedly die just to hope to get a good drop. Thats awful design. 1 death per map is great because you really think "Can I run this map?" and if the answer is no, you dont run it. |

" Looool I didn't even think of that. If this penalty stays in the game on release literally everyone on SC trade will just call in a boss carry/sell their citadels on TFT for X Exalts/Divines. Because why try the boss when there's a risk of losing the entire thing after 1 death? It's literally disadvantageous and too risky. It's better to just sell it(or call in a carry to kill boss then trade you the loot after), same logic as why some people in PoE 1 sell their maven writs,exarch invitations etc. I'm sure that kind of meta evolving will make the game very fun lmao |

" thats not an issue, the loss needs to be there absolutely if you could just reopen it again. Otherwise I would just run citadels skipping rares, then killing the boss and suicide when I am at 0% exp. Farming salt on the forums since 2024

1 death per map is just lazy game design and nothing more than punishment for the player diguised as artifical difficulty. theres nothing inherently hard about the maps but you can be punished by any sort of 1 shot mechanic or if you arent giving the game your full attention at all times. Its the same mindset as games like jump king. Just punish the player over and over again and claim its some sort of revolutionary new type of difficulty.
