One death per map needs to go

This is utter crap. There's not one build that will inevitably suffer from this mechanic - much less melee builds, regularly, that have to wade into the thick of chaos just to pop once and be a few mm on the screen from a click to decent gear. Simple fix, I'm sure. Just flip the switch. Why wait until you drop another 200k players before doing it?
Like even the pinnacle bosses are 1 shot...like come on thats way too rough. It makes it feel like i HAVE to play over the top meta builds or you just arn't allowed to have fun, just anxiety.
It pulled the wind out of my sails.

After finding out there is only one death I have hardly touched the map system feeling totally ripped off after a death.

If it is going to stay IMO the map Should be refunded as a white ............. .......................................................................

I’m a level 77 Ranger Deadeye, and despite heavily investing in evasion and survival, I still die frequently—almost always from one-shots. It’s become so frustrating that I’m stuck in low-tier Waypoints (1-3), and I’ve lost all motivation to continue. I’ve decided to wait for the full release because this grind has become tedious and boring.

I really hope they address this issue by implementing changes like removing one portal per death, or allowing up to three deaths per attempt, or introducing some kind of lifesaver mechanic with a cooldown—something that prevents instant death by leaving you with 1 HP instead. That would make the experience far more enjoyable and less punishing.

You always have Hardcore mode if you want this level of punishment. Nobody can't enjoy this.
This is a seriously annoying, poorly thought out mechanic that has seriously made the end game extremely grading. Not only is it bad right now due to the rippiness of crazy map mods, monster damage, and Archnemesis; players are actively being punished for poor connections, crashes, and bugs.

I lost three big maps tonight to an insane off screen one shot (big fire aoe from an expedition mob, which was also clipped through the ground, through 2.5k hp and 3k scorcery ward), crossbow reload bug and a crash. Literally brought the session down to 10ex an hour.

Besides this and the insane ascendancy changes, the game is so much better for me over poe 1, but this is seriously souring my opinion on the game.

Cannot stand this dumb mechanic....

This one thing is destroying the end game experience.

Get rid of the one death and change it back to the portal count.
ima plus one this too. I don't find it more challenging, just an annoying waste of time.
It's just unfun, no skill is involved, way to many after death explosion hiding behind (beautifull) shitons of effect can kill you, lag / dc.

XP penality is enough when you're grinding your level 100, adding this serve really no purpose and it makes things teddious af ...
