I don't like PoE2 myself but let's not kid ourselves, its a smashing success for a million plus players and PoE1 is on life support in terms of players. I know we haven't had a league in forever but I don't think a new league will bring that many people back to PoE1.
Only time will tell but as I see it now PoE1 is basically dead game and PoE2 is the major success and will get all the love.
Sucks for sure for those of us who really loved PoE1 and just wanted some graphics/QoL updates/new Campaign from PoE2.

Yeah I agree, we will probably get a very barebones league and a skeleton crew later on with maintenance mode by the end of 2025.
I am really sad, but nothing is eternal.

Whether this is still the honeymoon phase and the brutally long campaign, simplified passive tree and gem system, and bland but punishing end game will work for a seasonal model like poe1, it remains to be seen.
bro, it's literally in the honeymoon phase right now LOL. it's not "to remain to be seen"
heck, someone could even argue the honeymoon phase is over lmao
You might be conditionally right. The honeymoon phase is over for zoom zoom ARPG players. They tried it and realized the best defensives in PoE 2 are Dodge and Raise shield. These players will go back to the standard Diablo like games where you 1 button mash through everything in 1 second.
This game will only continue to grow it's audience for players looking for more immersive methodical combat that is challenging. Again it's EA and this game will be massively popular when it full releases as long as GGG stays true to their vision of what PoE 2 is supposed to be.
Full release likely will have 2 or even 3+ million players. To say the honey moon phase is over isn't exactly correct lol. PoE 2 is a future game of the year and next best thing in the ARPG genre.
all the "poe2 players" who claim poe2 is challenging are the same people who probably never even killed shaper on poe1, lmao. they are the same people that rage quit and QQ'd about needing a PhD level of knowledge to advance

lol that's wild. you want the devs to personally apologize to you?
bro, i ain't the biggest GGG fan (see my signature), but good lord that's kind of overboard, not gonna lie lol
To me personally? Nah, to the entire player base. I think we (and by we I mean the multitudes of players that are pissed off over the trials.) deserve one as a whole for this brain dead terrible mechanic they tried to put out.
Oh look it's the self-appointed Customers Representative !
Dude the vast majority of the players are happy with the early access , and out of the minority of the players who are not happy ( sometimes for very good reasons ) you are just one of the very few who are literally hostile like they were scammed . So take a seat dude you are not representing anyone here .
Yep the majority of posts on this forum complaining about exactly what I am sayin disagree with you bozo. We will see how long it lasts.

Lots of people enjoying it as well. Its by no means perfect, but i think has nice qualities that PoE 1 lack.
People have to remember that its early access.
Personally, I think there are way too many people simping the game just because they love the POE franchise.
Let people like things. Holy shit.

I for one went back to PoE 1 after about almost 30 hours of PoE 2
... But I don't think your theory holds much water though
It seems more likely that it's people checking out PoE 1 because of the PoE 2 hype

I really don't think you know what it means 'to be in rough shape' the game is holding a playerbase on steam alone of roughly 400-600k (counting timezones), which puts it in a very good spot. While the loud few complain about the game 'being so terrible' and the devs being 'arrogant/bad' or whatever, the silent majority is enjoying the game.

Too bad the concurrent playerbase is higher than PoE 1 ever was. Keep coping and enjoy the zoom zoom brainrot. Crazy.

Life support? Steam alone has recently over 10k players. Naturally, people want to try out poe2. We'll have two games to play, imagine that.
You want to talk about life support, check out the games that are truly on life support. Cough cough.. skull..cough..and.. cough..bones.
