POE2 must really be in rough shape...
The amount of new POE1 characters hitting me up for noob gear in trades speaks volumes.
Glad I decided to wait. Last bumped on Dec 18, 2024, 9:11:13 PM

It's the most anti-player crapfest I've ever seen. It's like the developers got REAL full of themselves thinking they were onto something here and delivered one of the worst gaming experiences ever. It's going to fail if they don't change just about everything.

" Yep it's some straight up bullshit. Most disrespectful game I've ever played. They waste more of my time re clearing mobs and doing tedious shit than an a damn mobile game. Quit in act 3 at the first trial. Left a negative steam review that won't change until they apologize and change this trash. |

Lots of people enjoying it as well. Its by no means perfect, but i think has nice qualities that PoE 1 lack.
People have to remember that its early access. |

I'm enjoying it!
It ain't perfect, but...I wasn't enjoying poe1 anymore, so I'm happy. I like the poe2 combat a lotlot more. |

" Personally, I think there are way too many people simping the game just because they love the POE franchise. PROS - New improved graphics - Some QOL features like re-worked potions and reworked skill gems that don't force you to spam 1000s of consumables to get a 6link with the perfect colors. CONS - Controls: WASD only allows for 8 degrees of movement, it's like playing on an original Nintendo with a D-Pad; Point & Click feels like you're on ice, it's muddy; and controller, by far the best controls for movement, but by far the worst controller for spell casting auto-lock that locks in the opposite direction you're pushing your direction joystick, never being able to target the mob you want to... omg I can't believe people aren't complaining more about the controls. There's quite a few posts, but there should be a lot more. - Skill Gems: Leveling them up with experience was a great mechanic in POE1 - ripped away to make an artificial progression wall. Ew, just a bad mechanic. - Rolling: to each to their own here, but I personally hate summersault simulators. It's fake, boring, lame, unintuitive, and over done. ARPGs are supposed to give you the agency to take a hit to the face, block it with a shield, absorb it with magic, be quick like a cat and dodge it, or use many many many different skills to just move out of the way. ------------------- A good game should be easy to learn, hard to master. I think GGG really failed hard here. POE2 feels like the ceiling has come down, making it easier for anyone to master it. You move, you roll, and building your character is more dummy proof than it was in POE1. But it's not any easier to learn. Ya there's a few less currencies, crafting is a lot more basic and gamba. But the game is such a tedious slog, I'm way too bored of it before I even get access to anything fun. Rolling attacks is easy, anyone can kill the trash, but there's no easy way to overpower your character for different parts of the campaign aside from mind-numbingly going through it once with another character. It's literally not hard, it's just slow and boring. I'd rather load up Udemy and take some courses on game development than waste my time playing this. Personally, the controls are the biggest turn off for me. I probably would have put up with it and gotten myself a level 90 by now if I wasn't so annoyed with the controls. But since I can get paid at work to do Udemy courses as I see fit, I've decided to play other games that are more fun in my downtime. So that's what I've been doing, there's lots out there, this one ain't it. |

" lol that's wild. you want the devs to personally apologize to you? bro, i ain't the biggest GGG fan (see my signature), but good lord that's kind of overboard, not gonna lie lol "Path of Exile's engine is currently modern, lean and fast." - Chris Wilson, September 19th, 2019 "It looks like we broke something with 3.10.0. Game is obviously veering towards mobile trash now. It's obvious with the skills and interface direction the game has taken.
