Massive FPS Drops in POE2
Yeah same issue here. I can run Cyberpunk on max settings with 120 stable fps but cannot run this game stable. It is so anoying. They need to fix that asap, this is most important imo than any other issue with the early access version of the game, cuz is frustrating playing like that.
I increased the NVIDIA caché to 100GB and it helped me a lot, running now 100FPS but is random, sometimes works sometimes not. Lets hope that GGG improves the game asap to fix this FPS issues... I have the same PC specs as generally you guys are reporting above. |

Are you playing with a bluetooth controller?I has the same problem and I fixed when I connect the bluetooth controller via cable

For anyone who is using DLSS on a relatively modest rig, it seems it doesn't work with dynamic resolution. When you encounter something that strains your system, dense breach for example, it just slows down to a crawl. I switched to using XeSS. It's slightly worse image quality, but it works with dynamic resolution seamlessly so no more slowdowns.

I enabled nvidia reflex with dynamic culling. also with dynamic resolution.
The game goes to full pixel mode when a rare dies or a breach, but at least it does not lag. This might work until GGG fix these issues. Last edited by Sandman81_PT#3451 on Dec 26, 2024, 12:59:35 PM

" no, i asume most of us play with mouse and keyboard.
" Very interesting, I had made the same observations regarding the “indoor” and “outdoor” maps. This may also be the reason why the massive FPS drops were not so noticeable during the campaign. As you said, other events like ritual are also unplayable for me. I think GGG has made serious mistakes here in the programming and its impact on resources. If you compare the specs of the players PC's who have difficulties with the minimum and recommended requirements of the game, there is a world of difference. I hope that a solution will come soon.
its using 6 cores cuz its not hyperthreading. try disabling c-states see if it does anything (either via power profile or if no effect try via bios)

Opening breach on ps5 drops frames to like 15. Almost unplayable. My character starts lagging insanely. Same goes for Trials. Impossible to stay alive when the lag starts. Horrible optimization and the worst part of the game for me personally.
