Massive FPS Drops in POE2
Yes! Game now is uplayable with any hardware on some maps with this stupid fog from delirium. Better to add graphic options to turn off this fog. It's not funny to play at 5-20fps where you can barely see anything. Delirium fog is WORST part of game(

" Hello GGG, thank you for your first response after 4 months. Unfortunately, I cannot confirm the following statement in no way " The statement that individual problems are described in this thread surprises me. Despite the size of this thread, we are describing the absolute same denominator here. In short: Massive FPS problems throughout the game and especially in maps and endgame content. Judging by the statement, you probably didn't even take the time to read our posts properly :( Absolutely nothing of what I explained when I opened this thread has been improved in any way. I have also tested this again with the latest updates (today 2025-03-23). There are still massive FPS drops throughout the game. I don't want to break it down to individual scenarios, because that would do nothing to improve the completely imperformant game. But I am willing to give you a short scenario: Make yourself an Archmage stand in Savannah or Blooming field, set a flamewall and spam spark. You'll quickly realize that your FPS drops faster than mobs loot. If this is your policy to deal with this problem, you will lose a large player base, which is a real waste considering all the visible work you have put into this game. | |
highly recommend Lossless Scaling and Capping FPS in-game to 30 or 60 and using 2X Mode.

so just logged back in to check out new patch.
start brand new char, walking thru 1st area. as soon as an enemy appears on edge of screen, huge fps spike. enemy uses attack? huge fps spike. game basically goes from silky smooth (200+ fps) to complete standstill, then rubber-bands to catch up. drives me mad. running a 7800X3D & 4080 Super. NVMe PCIe 4.0 Internal SSD. graphics settings set to default. (tried fiddling with them a bit but nothing fixed it). whenever the fps spikes occur, i notice "shader" bar spikes as well. if i can't even run thru first area in the game without insane fps stutter, not much point playing any further :-\ |

I experience exactly the same as u. On release i played for arround 90 hours without any problems.
Now i have massive framedrops on any kind of animation, be it some aoe or even just another character moving in town. Im running a 4800X with 6800XT. I tried fiddling with the graphics settings but since i can not seem to get any improvement I will wait until there is a fix. Also i notice some textures have very sharp edges and these edges are wiggeling arround. Some of these textures are even on my Huntress armor. I didnt experience any of these problems when i played back on release. Edit: Nvidia Reflex is disabled. Edit 2: Disableing Upscaling doesnt help. Bilinear Upscaling doesnt improve the performance. Vulcan crashes the game. After 2hours of trying stuff i will stop and wait if there might be a fix by GGG. Last edited by Nectar#3082 on Apr 4, 2025, 5:46:55 PM

" I had the same issue, so I turned off upscaling and the problem has gone. Obviously still a bug, but worth trying if you have the issue. |

Uninstall the steam version and use the launcher from the poe2 website.
Steam version was unplayable and terrible FPS. Native launcher is allowing me to activate Vulkan/FSR/HDR and get steady 120 FPS on maxed out 4K using a 7900XTX. For comparison, Steam launcher being stuck on DX11, I was getting 40fps using low settings at 2K. Steam version is the problem. |
