The amount of outrage is insane. The point of EA is big changes.
To get it out of the way. They should offer free respec for big changes. There are clearly some overlooked untested balancing issues, like trials.
However, the whole point of early access is to open it up to a large playerbase to find broken things and fix it. Overpowered and unintended interactions will get fixed. There haven't only been nerfs. Many skills and supports aren't even implemented for the current classes, let alone the other 6 and other ascendancies we are getting. Many posts are acting like this a finished PoE league. This is not that. If you can't handle big changes then I suggest waiting for full release. There are legitimate criticisms and good feedback to give. But it is just boggling the expectations people have when GGG have communicated extremely well about the state of the game and what this period is for. Stay sane, Exiles. People have a right to be 'outraged'. Diablo 3 released almost 13 years ago now, with MORE viable builds than this has currently. There is no excuse.
And Diablo 3 had a terrible cash-grab release where the Devs purposely made the game nearly impossible so people would be forced to use the auction house to buy a weapon and gear. And of course they made hundreds of millions with that. But even with that terrible game mode, the game still had more build depth than PoE2 during this 'early access'. This isn't 'early access'. What this is, is "If we don't release this game before Christmas our shareholders will demolish us over missing out on hundreds of millions of dollars". It should also tell you something that the vast MAJORITY of PoE1 and other ARPG vets who aren't entirely reliant on ARPGs (like Kripp for example. NOT like Rhykker for example) are saying the same things. They are saying it's bad. They are saying 2 weeks is the limit for grinding. The art and details look great, but those things don't make a game a good game. There's an ARPG called 'Chronicon' made by a SINGLE dev which has overwhelmingly positive reviews that has 100x more depth than PoE2. PoE2 tries to hide the fact it has no original end game, no original takes on items, literally no substance at all. Like, quite literally there is no depth to the game. It shipped with crappy meta builds, and glaringly obvious dev mistakes like Gas Arrows doing 850% weapon damage while Ice Shots do like 80% for Merc. This was a cash grab. If you are too stupid to understand that, that is your own fault. I'm enjoying parts of the game but as someone with decent intelligence, I can already see from the gem systems and the way items have not only been limited, but simplified, that there is no end game unless you feel like grinding meta builds and sitting on the trading app. This would be a poor attempt at an ARPG for even a completely new studio. All they did was copy paste some things from PoE1 for end game. I do want to thank the POE2 Devs though. I am MUCH more thankful for Diablo 4 and Last Epoch now that I see just how bad it can be when the devs are fully focused on selling cosmetics and making shareholder numbers. When even ActivisionBlizzard is outperforming you, it's GG. And doubling the campaign won't fix anything. There's too many bad systems in the game. You will notice a continuous trend with those who have lower intelligence and worshipping this game and those who have higher who criticize it. " We can agree to disagree then. I don't believe it was a cash grab, that is not a GGG trait and I stand by that opinion. You're really comparing ActiBlizz, known for trying to milk as much money as possible at every turn. Quite funny. I watched Kripp's review and he made some very good points. But I don't think it really translates into what you're saying in any way. He had some criticisms but overall he likes the game. There are more than half classes/ascendancies missing. There is a lot of work to be done and as I stated, GGG were extremely communicative about the state of the game. It matches the expectations they set pretty well. |

" Sure, if the game didn't have a paywall Would be easier to open up to a large playerbase if it was free Or "invite only", if concerned about playerload As soon as the game selling big packs and in-game cosmetics Sorry, but "it's early access" arguments ain't as valid any longer They have opend up themselves to being critized as a payed product Last edited by Jokke1989#7206 on Dec 12, 2024, 9:06:35 AM

I think the respec cost is very steep right now, nerfs or no nerfs. It could be significantly cheaper at least for the duration of the EA.
I don't mind the big changes. If it fixes something braindead, I'm all for it. |

" kk Let's chech this out: First of all, proove pls to "If we don't release this game before Christmas our shareholders will demolish us over missing out on hundreds of millions of dollars" - would be great if u will post the link. D3 build diversity at the first patch: 1 build for each class and 2 for DH - one for mortals and one for bot-farming strat. PoE 2 build diversity atm (according to Mobalistycs): 17 without leveling sections "And of course they made hundreds of millions with that." - how much made you? My profits were like 1-2k euro\ week first 1.5 months. And then they came "the vast MAJORITY of PoE1 vets say.." - i am in stack with ppl with over 10k hours PoE-1, I personaly have 5k- and you know what? We're good: going into the scales, mechs , basics. Moreover, jsut cuz we are vets, we realise that this is EA, basics, and it's ok, it's fine: we still possible to make over 1hnd ex per day to invest into the builds, to try something new. "You will notice a continuous trend with those who have lower intelligence and worshipping this game and those who have higher who criticize it." - just perfect execution, m8. Good is good and bad is bad xD |

" haha shit, I totally skipped over that line. lmfao |

" No one forced you to buy it. They communicated possibly the best any game studio has ever done about the state of the game and the intention for this. It's buy to enter, but ends up being free on release since you get equivalent shop points in both games. |

" i think it would be resonable to have free respecs during EA. that would promote testing out several things for the individual as well, let alone a bit of a courtesy for when big changes happen. like this lightning ranger build will probably get adjusted. warrior will 100% get nerfed again, and other things we haven't found yet. but the intention of EA is to find them. so when people find them and GGG says "thanks! that was unintended! we'll change it now" people just reeeee like mad honestly i hope people do leave the game if thats the case. why? because then the chances of them influencing the game and changing it won't exist, and that would make me happy |
