Having energy gain depend on how hard the trigger skill hits totally defeats the purpose of a CoC build and just kills the reason for anyone to play it. I just don't understand

What is "fixing" in your opinion? Right now casters with full crit/ailments investments without any def investments can't compete in terms of damage with attack/summoner builds nor clear maps, unless it's not an archmage build. And now triggers are gone leaving archmage as an only option. It's true Scamblo way to force into the only option left.

So please, think about what you are talking about.

If they give me the way to respeck I am down to drag my brain through options, but I have been busy the last few days and I have no gold on my inventory, espcially not to work around 60 points of skills.

I am playing Chrono, I have already been solving my issues and trying out a Recoup build because there is basically no reason to go CDs right now.
WHY do you nerf all the trigger builds TO OBLIVION ? You are sooooo careful about buffing drops etc but ABSOLUTELY BUTCHER trigger skills, like you really dont want them in the game. One of my absolute favorite things about Poe is CAST ON XXX and you just went out of your way to nerf every build utilizing your own mechanics.

And to do this without even giving out free respecs is crazy, not that i care since im done now until maybe few months after real release when you can actually start a char and play a build for more than 2 days without it getting absolutely killed by the devs.

At least we have Hero Siege Season 5 tomorrow, so I don't have to level another character that will become unplayable soon cause we don't know what will be the next!

And yeah I totally understand it's an EA etc. I don't need other players pretending they are smart saying "the sun is hot". But to me to "destroy a concept archtype entirely" is different than "adjusting it".

Making all triggers a "single target" thing. I think they forgot that fun needs to be the main element of the game and there's no fun using a concept "eventually".

These nerfs don’t even affect me but it still bothers me they didn’t immediately give everyone a full free respect in the same patch. What is GGG doing??? You want player retention, not players leaving. Brain dead developers. Maybe we do need more Diablo-like ARPs…

why why why, i rerolled 3 times because i finally wanted to try a build that finally deals damage, now my character is dead and i lost my interest in playing, thank you
I will admit that CoF was very overused. But do the people defending this change ever stop to think that this is less because CoF + Comet is OP and more because almost every other spell caster option is bad?

Also, while I agree with a nerf in general this went to far. There is a difference between balancing and breaking something. This is the latter. And that is never a good thing. Removing build freedom, which is already limited as most skills and builds are actually pretty bad right now, in a game that is designed and known for its build freedom is a pretty dumb choice.

Also CoF + Comet may have been the most common use of triggers but it wasn't the only one. Many monks use CoS in order to help with charge generation because the other options are clunky as hell. Now its impossible for me to sustain charges with that as I can't build enough energy fast enough. Hand of Chayula + Sniper Mark + Resonance still works on bosses but now for trash Combat Frenzy is the only decent option but as a lightning monk this feels horrible as the only real source of electrocute nerfs the damage of the skill its on by a massive amount.

Maybe instead of nerfing the trigger's themselves they should do something about what was being triggered, namely Comet. Comet was the real offender here. Maybe make it so triggered offensive spells deal less damage. Maybe make super hard hitting spells like Comet unable to be linked to trigger gems. There are options to deal with this without breaking the trigger gems themselves.

And maybe while they are at it, tweak the other spells so they can actually deal a decent amount of damage so people aren't so reliant on Comet. That way we can actually have more builds be viable instead of less.
