0.1.0d Hotfix 1

While I understand the need to change/remove the occasional broken (read: actually not functioning as intended or wildly out of sync with the rest of the game in terms of damage output) skills or builds in early access for the health of the game going forward, I think that offering a free re-spec would be a positive thing to do, given the massive gold investment that is required for re-spec. This is just the beginning of early access, and builds are bound to come and go as the mechanics continue to be balanced. When sweeping changes are made to an entire class of skills that affect a wide variety of classes/ascendancies/players who have spent hours upon hours farming up the resources to try new things in a fresh, new game environment, often emptying their reserves of gold and other currencies to do so, I, for one, believe that those players (myself included) should not be further set back by having to farm the gold to re-spec (cost of which is based on level and expected tier of post-campaign farming) in areas that are, in some cases, dozens of levels below their current level.

I consider myself in the lucky side of things, as I was able to scrape together a marginal build that is almost capable of farming act 3 cruel for the ~300k gold I will need to re-spec my passive tree again to something that can go back to mapping. I love PoE 1 and am having a great time so far with PoE 2, despite the difficulty shift and obvious issues with any early access game and I will continue to play it. I do, however, hope that the promise of free re-specs when sweeping changes are made that was mentioned in the reveal is upheld. The prospect of spending the next 10+ hours farming act3 cruel just to get myself back to zero again is both daunting and soul-crushing.
Do you guys think before you do things? Or are you just trying to give the worst first impression possible?

Firstly, there was no way that this was not going to get nerfed, so I am not sure why people are surprised. Secondly, this is still a Beta, and it was explicitly stated multiple times that there would be allot of balancing initially, so I am not sure why people are complaining about broken builds. That being said, I could see why giving a full free respec wouldn't be the worst thing for player retention. But I am not sure how it would work with skill gem rebalances, which could be used on any character or build.


They didn't just simply "nerf" the skill gem/build ect. They completely removed it from the game. I have 100% crit chance with eye of winter (its base damage is literally 23-34 cold damage (not a big hitter). I still delete bosses in <10 seconds. But now I cannot kill white mobs after 2 full minutes of critting at 100% crit chance with eye of winter. It wasn't a nerf, it was a complete nuke that left nothing behind. I do not have the 500k gold saved up to respec and running a simple map will now take upwards of 2 hours to kill all the white mobs.

If the nerf had done something to simply tune down the ridiculousness that was pre-nerf, that would be fine. But just doing some simple numbers from my testing, were talking about taking 60-90 times longer to kill a white pack of mobs. Doesn't really feel like a "nerf" when your insane gear with 65%+ crit on all spells and 300+ crit multi can't even kill a pack of beetles in under 2 minutes.

This patch is absolutely bullshit. I'm done with poe2.

This is not a nerf, was a complete removal of the skill and build. because of the jeweler orb system..whoever had a 6 link lost ALLOT. Not to mention spirit gear was EXTREMELY overpriced balanced around meta skills. Now its worthless. And ofc..the imposible respec /ascendacy change.

I hope that's sarcasm, what's the unintended interactions with cast on ... as example there wasn't anything unintended.
GGG just saw that people did good damage and nerfed the living hell out of it.
so your "A:" should say "Does your spell do good damage or not?
