Ladies, Gentlemen

I've read about half of this sprawling thread. I personally feel the game is great, but EA. Many skills need adjustment, Passive Tree needs adjustment, and so on. Because, again, it's EA and I know, because it's GGG, it will only get better from here.

So, please, make your point, set forth your arguments, post your bugs. Be helpful and respectful of each other. Game commentary and analysis is excellent and doubtless welcome. Personal attacks are puerile and distract from what this should be about - improving an already great game.

It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I'm already in love and I trust GG to make careful adjustments without abandoning this refreshing vision.

Peace,
Inethil

I trust them too, but I am anxious. If you repeat the difference before 0.1.0c loot 2 or 3 more times, we are literally at 7+ years of PoE1 power/zoom/loot creep in one or two weekends of GGG folding to a loud minority.

The latest patch is already insane. Try a new char, act 1 is really quick with an easy boss fight, watch how much loot you get especially from rares.

Just a friendly bump. A lot of great points about not deviating from the vision. I have slowly been transitioning to Ruthless in PoE1 just to prolong my enjoyment in leagues. League mechanics are worth investing time into because red maps are a long ways away.

Most of the game matters when it is designed like Ruthless. My only qualm with Ruthless is that the game is not designed for it anymore and as much as you guys did a good job with it, it just comes a bit short.

I think we should avoid using words like "hardcore gamer" this isn't an elitism thing. What I want is a more true to form "classical ARPG" experience. PoE2 so far is mostly successful in that once they tune down some of the busted builds that are starting to pop up. Can't wait to see how the game fills out once the other weapon types and classes come out. My belief is that some classes underperform because the game was designed with weapon swap in mind (which is just pure bliss btw-its arsenal barb from D4 but it actually matters!).

I don't get the logic behind "Hey, you know this thing that only a handful of people like? More than that handful of people will like it as the main and only mode in this new game."

This is literally how PoE1 was made. D3 alienated all the D2 players, GGG made PoE. You lack vision.

GGG will not be giving us Ruthless.

They said they want to do a better job with the balancing.

There is an excellent canvas to expand on the stuff you are mentioning here, but unfortunately a lot of helpful feedback is drowned in "I want this to be like Path of Exile 1" which just defeats the points of a PoE2.
Completely agree with the OP , GGG the silent majority is with your vision of the game not with the people that want POE 1.5 on steroids ...

I agree wholeheartedly with OP.

I usually do not engage in forums, but I feel like It's important to let the devs know there are players who appreciate the experience offered by this game.

I would hate that this game turns into a POE1 clone, and I would certainly not play for long if it was the case.

Unfortunately it seems to be what an overwhelming amount of people want. The content creator and social media cycle is just making this a disaster.

I barely recognize the forums anymore.

At the same time, the forum is full of posts that say that only "tourists such as content creators and new fans" like this, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It doesn't matter anymore, anyway.
A handful of people took to Reddit after dying once, and GGG decided to give in and change the game drastically.

The "supporters" supported by shittalking the game so much GGG doesn't know what to do anymore, all the while bragging about how much they "support" the game by doing cock comparisons with the amount of supporter packs they display on the forums.

You have no idea how many "look at the amount of supporter packs I bought, therefore my opinion matters and yours does not" I got for defending the initial state of the game and enjoying it.

You'd think the "supporters" support the game.
You'd think the "veterans" know what to do and don't whine about difficulty and need to be told by "tourists" that the game isn't that difficult.

Everything is so backwards on these forums, I gave up trying to make sense of it.

The, in my opinion, best part of Diablo 2 is how good the campaign was! Which makes sense, because that was the whole game from the get go. I didn't mind playing through it over and over again, hundreds of times.

I haven't felt this good going through a story in an ARPG in forever!

Not like modern day ARPGs that nurture this mentality of "speed through the story to grind the end-game loop"... Why? Why even have a campaign then? Just make a roguelike.

If you have a good single player experience, just build on that and players will stick around because they enjoy the gameplay - rather than throwing loot and power at them like pills at a rave to keep people going.

Path Of Exile 2 nails the two-decade forgotten art of getting me to sit upright and focus on what's happening on the screen. I really, really hope it stays that way.

P.S. Yeah, imagine a new game being hard until you learn it. I remember when beating Act 1 in Diablo 2 felt like an achievement, only to become an absolute cakewalk not a year later when I knew all the ins and outs of what to do.

I agree with u too I have long love for this game I may not have all the supporter badges to prove it but playing poe over other games that has come and gone this game is the only one that proves freedom and build diversity. That feels so lost now
