GGG - Stand true to what you said about player feedback

I don't mind a little challenge. But I hate the (especially asian type) grind forever games to reach anything or way to hard combat with no fun (I do not define 100+ attempts fun .. no I did not yet need that in poe2). If my hand explodes with pain from overabuse of hour long attempts, then something is wrong ... youngsters will feel that later, don't think it won't come.

Again I like a little challenge. But keep it fun. I dodn't think Act 1 was much fun, due to every mob swarming you with way more speed than you have etc. Nah. The game should still give you some sense of being the fantasy hero (no, that doesn't mean it has to be autogaming easy). But if you're just a puny little thing stressing to survive the entire game, then I'm not sure what clientele is happy with this .. grind-addicted masochists? Self-declared Elitists with no job and too much time? Only very young people whose hands and reflexes are still at maximum in life?

People who don't want things to fall over and die. Some early game skill balance goes a long way, but some classes can make early act 1 a slog. Try Soso, merc, monk, witch and it feels WAY DIFFERENT. You feel like a powerhouse off the get go.

Ranger and War you need your first bonkstick to get going. its not communicated well.
+1 I agree with the op

Sadly I was too busy getting lots of chars to maps w/ the guild off rip so I wasn't an earlier thread... The biggest thread on this board is just a complain thread made literally hours after the game first came out. They didnt even give it a chance.

Agree.
Actually POE2 is not a sequel to the current POE1, and the earliest POE1.
Understanding it makes you less likely to complain too much about the game's difficulty.
Even I actually prefer the current POE1.(Because I really like the feeling of growing fast and defeating enemies quickly.Although I don't hate difficult content)
I think POE2 will be another good game.Though I probably won't be touring POE2 for a repeat season.
But I have to say that complaints about difficulties should stay with POE2.
This is because the season updates for POE1 and POE2 are intended to alternate.
I don't know how long it is between season updates for POE1 and POE2.
The assumption is POE1 season - four months - POE2 season - four months - POE1 season .
Then there will always be POE1 players who go and try to play POE2 in intervals as long as eight months. (And vice versa).
Based on the above points, I'm pessimistic that this bickering will continue.
And in the end, the odds are that both games will turn out to be games with improved graphics and similar content.
I'm not sure what to do about this problem, it's probably better to give POE2 a non-POE name to begin.

PS:I'm not a native English speaker, so the above was generated using a translator. I apologize for any difficulty in understanding.
Step one: never, ever take any feedback on reddit seriously.

The subreddit is actually hilarious to read right now.

Same w/ this feedback forum. Kind of tragic.
+1 also got bait and switched, loved this game before they made it baby mode and now I will never play PoE 1 again.

I don't understand the players that say they're disappointed because they were looking forward to this game so much and it's not for them. If you love PoE 1 so much, why would you be looking forward to a game that's not the game you love?

Literally makes no sense, I've been looking forward to this game since I first played PoE at launch and I really, really hope they don't mess it up. I will be so sad if they ruin this game because of a community that has no idea what an ARPG is or should be.

The problem I have is where I want PoE2 to be its own thing and focus on key parts of what could make PoE2 great, lots of players want PoE1 for what made it great.

But what makes PoE1 great in some ways is what diminishes it in others, it's not just the engine/building blocks that made the combat expression difficult, it's also the sandbox-style scaling.

What makes PoE2 great so far is learning white mobs, learning patterns, the challenge and overcoming. If we award too much speed creep and player power, then we diminish the value of combat.

Here's an example: Ask your average person on this feedback forum what their first memory of a stygian revenant was. Or Merveil. etc... Goes for a lot of PoE1.

vs. Ask your average person on d2 what their first memory of Duriel was.

They are two games. PoE1 isn't closing, we dont need PoE2 to become PoE1.

bro, look at steam reviews- i personally hate that platform but i guess it provides some value

p.s i endorse your post lol, just saying they prob have a good idea game is doing ok

Aye, but steam reviews have to be taken with a grain of salt given how many people play PoE1. There is an unhealthy expectation for PoE2 to just be PoE1 with better graphics -- which would be an absolute shame of the handcrafted awesome combat experience you can have on poe2 ONLY BECAUSE its not poe1's devolved speedy mess.

Handcrafted combat experience? The maps are rng created, the mobs are rng decided in positions, types and modifiers. The bosses are about the only thing handcrafted, but they aren't any more special than most other bosses in other games.

Come on dude. The animations, the combat, knowing monster base types is FUN.

Ask a modern PoE1 player what their most memorable stygian revenant experience. Exactly.

I can certainly tell you my first swamp hag or quadrilla experience.
