Massive Latency Spikes
This just started for me this afternoon, EST. I'm on DC Server. Everything was fine yesterday and this morning.

I ran a traceroute to the GGG server I last connected to (GGG gives you an easy guide on how to do this), to see if there were any bad hops, and there were. So I had bad routing. I tried a vpn to perhaps get around this. No go.
Double checked, and low'n behold, I was still using ipv4, which under normal circumstances would work well enough, but was probably a contributor to a host of issues leading to my lag spikes. Enabling ipv6 on my router, completely resolved my spikes. No more bad hops.... stable ms now, buttery smooth. Most people are still on ipv4. So if you have the option to ivp6, give it a go and see if that fixes things for you. |

Same issue here, no spikes/lag or anything since launch until yesterday.

I think I found a solution. I had the same lag spike problem. I tried everything suggested in the thread, but nothing helped. I logged out of my account and tried my wife's account to test if it was an ip issue of my account, but her account didn't have the spike issue. Then I logged back into my account. The spike problem was gone. It seems like it's an account bound issue,

Hello everyone,
I ran into the same issue in general, but yesterday we tried to open up a new instance instead of staying in the same. We ported from the caravan into Keth, reaching Keth lag spikes started to happen. We ported back to the caravan and opened up a new instance using the waypoint. CTRL+clicking the waypoint and creating a new instance is an option. Afterwards, I had no lag spikes at all. For now, I only had the chance to test it one time, but maybe some other people, that run into the same issue can try it out aswell. Edit: Sorry, didn't see, that this has been a thing already written in this thread! Could not delete the post. Last edited by ElDragon#8196 on Dec 12, 2024, 2:20:27 AM

Same issues. Tried vpns, tried changing dns, tried the new instance solution... Nothing.
I can get buttery smooth frames, but my ping will fluctuate insanely every 30 seconds from 20ms to 7000. This causes my character to freeze for a number of seconds then i see those last few seconds actions catch up in super speed. It's essentially unplayable. I uh, would feel fine about it if we got some kind of confirmation that they're aware of it. I don't want to waste time on solutions if there are none. I find it really strange that there are a ton of players in game saying they have had zero issues. Really? |

+1
Started today. Regular ping then massive lag spikes every 1-2 seconds. Unplayable. Tried with 2 different wifi adapters, same behavior. Most likely a GGG issue, since past several days have been way smoother and stable. |

same here

from 60-250 and game freezes in that time. I think nobody cares.

Yup. Same shit here.
Tried everything too. Enabling ipv6, USB tether via mobile, change wifi, 8,8,8,8 DNS, bla bla bla settings. Release ipconfig, bla bla bla bar flying to GGG's office to get answers. |
