Hard crashing PC locks up

FYI if you are running a 13th or 14th gen intel processor, please make sure you have the latest BIOS for your motherboard that includes the microcode update for those CPUS. If you are are pushing 100% processor usage you will be subject to possible CPU damage without the fix for the bugged CPU power request.

If you are experiencing frequent BSOD with those processors... contact intel for warranty replacement.
When I disable 2 CPU cores for POE2 in task manager, I will still experience occasional freezing on loading scenes, but at least in that way I can minimize window and close the game, which is way better than restarting whole system.
Please fix this the game is still unplayable for me
Was facing the same issue. Windows 11 had a new update today. After that no more happening. Maybe it solved it, not fully sure yet.
Nervous to even start this game up on my brand new pc. Also here’s another bump cause this is a shame I
Paid 30$ logged 9 hours with a dozen or more crashes and just can’t do it anymore. Worst launch I’ve ever seen

This update makes miscellaneous security improvements to internal OS functionality. No additional issues were documented for this release.

Given Microsoft's lackluster descriptions, there's no telling whether this update contains anything relevant to this POE2 issue.

If you haven't updated recently, this includes previous updates as well.
PoE2: A good, giving game

It's listed in the "Known Issues" post that is sticky atop this forum so they know about it, they are working on it, and they gave feedback that they do.

You dont find it distasteful that whilst this issue is ongoing, they're posting about "skills in an unacceptable balance state" on twitter?

There are two threads in this forum about this gamebreaking, hardware-damaging issue with a combined post count of 1,200 and combined views of 95,000, and its only got a one liner mention in a sticky, no staff responses anywhere yet. This is the single biggest issue with the early access - the lack of recognition these threads are getting from GGG is very disheartening.

It not being fixed is frustrating sure, but the bigger issue that people here have is there is no communication that anything is progressing. Sure they've said they're aware of the issue, but it appears to the community who are affected that "Its a bit too easy to detonate Gas Cloud" has taken priority over them.

Is it hard to put an update somewhere along the lines of "To aid in investigating a resolution to this issue please keep posting your system specs, specifically cpu/windows version/motherboard manufacturer/internet speed/ambient temperature/colour of your socks".

This /thread, GGG are the most irresponsible devs I’ve ever come across. This is damaging peoples hardware man wtf.
Guys I SOLVED IT FINALLY!!!! Not a single crash in 5 hours!!

Not affinity, not compatibility, nothing was helping before.

Rolled back from Win 11 from 24H2 to 23H2 and it helped!

le sigh.

This has been proven to not work, it's been posted multiple times in this thread.
