Hard crashing PC locks up
After many hours with no problems game froze again today despite win 7 mode… not a solution (but at least for me better than b4…)

I would just love a response from GGG. I didn't play POE1, been huge into Diablo 2-3-4 and then Last Epoch but decided to purchase a dev pack and play POE2 since many friends played 1 and love it. I installed, got to the first village and the pc hard crashed and actually completely fried the SSD.
This amount of user's with potentially hardware destroying issues is insane with nobody from GGG giving any kind of update or if its even actually being worked on. It is frustrating to see abilities getting fixed, drop rates being changed etc, when there are 100's of pages on these forums now of people having these issues. I am about ready to just refund this and chalk it up as a learning experience, at least I escaped with only a fried SSD. My specs are similar to everyone else's and honestly I don't care enough to post them with the amount of data that has been listed. For all the hate that D4 gets, at least the core game was coded correctly. |

The 'c' patch made it worse for me, but I managed to get it to work somehow in the end, so if anyone wants to try, here are the steps I took to make it work:
- if you have AMD processor download Ryzen Master and set it to Eco Mode (after setting the Eco-mode I clicked 'Apply and test' (on the bottom) and then restarted the PC when asked by the software) - this helped reduce the CPU temp spikes from up to 91 Celsius to max 75 (spike). When already loaded in the instance, the temps are steady at around 55-60. - I have my Path of Exile 2 set to run compatible with Windows 7 (do not know if this helps or not) - After launching Path of Exile 2, I go to Task Manager and set affinity, disabling the last 2 cores (so in case my game freezes I do not have to hard reset by holding power off button) - Before changing any zone or loading in the game I go to Settings and turn off 'Engine Multithreading' - I understand this might be tedious and annoying - but it is what it is. So far been playing for about 2 hours with the steps above applied and have not experienced any freezes, while before I could load into one zone and loading the next zone froze my game. Hope this helps someone. And hope GGG addresses this, so we are not left in the dark. |

Tried again today, and it crashed my pc when I tried changing zones a couple times. They need to resolve this issue.

Had the same problem on 24h2 with poe 1 and poe 2.
I reverted back to 23h2 and everything works perfectly now There is something very wrong with 24h2, there's a lot of reports from ppl playing ubisoft's games having the same problem. |

" nah. still happens. that was probably another crash out of the other 20 crashes that are currently happening |
|
" didn't work for me as it sometimes even crashes mid zone |
|
" I reverted too and nothing changed. I have basically tried everything people have said in this post and the other one... reverting windows, reverting drivers, limiting cpu with BEs, changing affinity, disable threading, etc. It does not work. Sometimes on a loading screen it'd hard freeze and I have to power down the PC. It's brand new, everything works flawlessly (indiana jones, for example, on ultra). You can be playing for hours straight and nothing happens, but then you load a new zone and it crashes. |
|
" the news is that the " update " made things even worse now you can't even load up the game and disabling cpu cores seems to not work either anymore |
|
" This is a good one until I forgot before entering a zone to switch off multithreading :D |
