Hard crashing PC locks up

Just posting my situation, aware we arent sure what exactly causes it yet.

I am not on 24H2 update, and today all of a sudden i keep getting hard feezes and have to restart. I have changed nothing since the weekend, and actually played all weekend without any crashes/issues exept for a bit of lag here and there.

Just wondering what happened since it started today? Strange.

EDIT: Multithreading has been ON all the time and running on Vulkan, so I dont see how this could be related to the crashes, for me at least.

Have the same issue of crashing at loading screens. Dont like to hard reset pc. This should be number 1 priority GGG. Thanks

It is on the high priority list.
for me helped turning off affinity for core 0 and 1 and last 2 just in case.
My game still crash but it does not take my whole system with it.

Adding for visibility:

Same issue.
4070 Ti Super
AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
Windows 11 24H2
The issue is Windows 11 24H2 Update. It mostly happens when porting somewhere / in loading screen. Mostly when multiple core/threads are highly used because of the new CPU scheduler in 24h2. It is not a PoE1/2 issue, it happens with all kinds of games with 24h2.

For a bit more context, the issue is how multithreading is utilized in relation to the CPU scheduler "improvements" in 24h2, mainly for Ryzen processors.

The easy solution is to disable multithreading in game. Your FPS will take a hit, especially in towns, but no more crashes! At least none related to the Windows update issue.

Disable multithreading, bind game to just one core, using high energy profile all are just a minor workarounds, not solving the issue truly just making it less likely to happen.

Only 100% workaround so far is to reinstall Windows 11 23h2 or 22h2 and block 24h2. The issue is known for 4 months now since 24h2 beta and MS doesnt give a damn to solve it. Report to MS please.

Not necesarilly with windows version. Im on win 10 22H2 and facing the BSOD/Crashes as well.

Rig:
I7 12700K
RTK 3070 8gb
32 ram

Its the game that its not managing properly the use of cores.

Wrong. You have a nother issue. Your PC is just unstable in general. Mostly by undervolt, overclock, ram instabilities, PSU, GPU, Intel degeneration issue, or other. Not related to this Thread.

24h2 introduced a "better" CPU scheduler, which utilizes cores better. Making the PC more prone to instabilities, which were already there before. But also introducing a major issue with the scheduler causing total system lockups. Two separate issues.

I was having this issue and since the latest hotfix, I cannot even open my game and/or log into a character without it happening.

Well, again, the windows version has nothing to do with that. How do you explain people on 23H2 having the same problem?

Could be something on windows, but 100% sure that the main issue is from the game itself.
Same issue here. Captured some temp and utilization issue on my 2nd monitor when it locked up, certainly seems to be a CPU utilization issue. I am running Windows 11 version 10.0.26100.2314
