Just had this crash, hard lock up with ASUS GeForce RTX 2070 SUPER DUAL EVO. Never had the issue, until now tho. Did change to windowed fullscreen recently tho.. Might be the mistake.
But been playing/streaming for days with no issue. Now it locks down even on char selection screen.

Now My Pc is crashing on other games all the sudden. Anyone have xp with this or any suggestions, or did just poe2:ea fry my pc ?... Sadge

Immediately after I have a hard crash with POE2 and reboot initially, my system tends to be unstable.

To fix, I reboot my PC in Safe Mode (Hold Shift when pressing RESTART), select Troubleshoot - Advanced - Startup Options - Enter for Restart - then Select Safe Mode Option 4.

As soon as I get to the Safe Mode desktop, I just reboot the machine as normal.

It clears the Windows crash state and refreshes any drivers that may have been stuck.

For my system anyway. That's how I clear out the crashes. Better than cutting the power by holding the power button.

NOTE: make sure you have a wired KB or mouse, since in Safe Mode the drivers may not load for the wifi ones. Or just hit your reset button in Safe Mode if you don't have an input to select Restart from the Windows menu.

At this point, while I can appreciate creators like Darth Microtransaction wanting to stay on GGG's good side, and maybe not even experiencing crashes, I feel like these creators should be saying SOMETHING and holding GGG accountable.

"Hey, I'm having a great time with the game! But I know a lot of people are struggling to play it without crashing. Do you know the cause of the crashes? Are there any plans to fix this soon?"

The fact that they're all just posting on X like "Hell yeah! New content patch! Can't wait! You're so amazing" is total bullshit and I have no respect for anyone in this community right now.
aaaaaaaaaand again...

hitting the login button without poeuncrasher loaded = RIP

For the people experiencing crashes constantly, set the Virtual Machine (VM) up and set PCI Passthrough for your GPU to benefit from its power. Run the game inside the VM and when it hangs up, just restart VM and continue to play without restarting the PC by pressing Power / Reset buttons.

For the cost of losing 10% of the game performance (depending on the settings) it's a good opportunity.

WOW! Why didn't you post that early? With the help of my IT friend I managed to install virtual machine and now I can play the game. Fortunately it doesn't even crash but I'm having pretty low FPS, it's about 50-ish. I suppose pci pass is what I have to do the next?

Should I set the affinity for my machine or the game? Just in case I disabled CPU 0 an 1 for the vm and the game inside it.

Oh I think I've got it! I don't have to set it anymore at all, because I can change the number of cores in the settings. That's COOL!

I'm surprised you managed to run it without PCI Passthrough. Anyway, without it the game performance is mediocre. You have to enable IOMMU in your UEFI Setup and use VMware because VirtualBox devs no longer support PCI PT. This article is good enough to set the things working.

So, if you're not having crashes anymore it is even better. You don't need to worry about constant restarts of your VM. I hope when you swap to VMWare, the crashes won't return back.

PS please, report back.

IT WORKS! Getting 120-ish FPS right now. But as I understand it doesn't help against CTDs or freezes but at least it doesn't lock up my pc. If the game works fine inside my virtual machine, why can't it work on my PC? Don't get me wrong I'm not complaining because after your suggestion it is a fresh breeze, I can forget about power button.

Hypocritical BS. He helped me to install esxci to play the game finally without lock ups. Imagine being so aggressive and toxic because someone else knows things better than you. What a loser.
CRASHES are getting worse, I had 2 today that froze pc despite poe uncrasher working in admin mode.
