Hard crashing PC locks up

Having this problem as well in both games, though it was much less frequent in PoE 1. Always happens on a loading screen, always requires a hard reset to fix.

AMD Ryzen 5 7600X, NVidia RTX 2060, Windows 11 24H2, latest drivers.

I'll give BES a shot to see if I can at least avoid the hard reset.

BES should prevent any kind of freeze from what I can see myself. You will have a little less FPS, but that is very small to pay compared to complete freeze of pc or game.

This happened to me this morning, after the game worked fine last night. Long story short, I refunded with Steam. Maybe I'll try again after this is fixed.

My PC:
- Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-11700 @ 2.50GHz
- 32 GB RAM
- RTX 4070 Super - Initially I wasn't on the latest driver, but updated to GeForce Game Ready 566.36 and matters didn't improve.
- Windows 11 Pro 24H2. OS build: 26100.2454. Windows Feature Experience Pack 1000.26100.36.0

Good luck, everyone.

An even smaller price to pay is if you refund the game, as I did. I respect GGG running one of the better free-to-play games and that this is early access. But since the cost of early access is CAD$40+, the least I expect is not to have to do their job (making the game not crash) for them.

Considering this is early access and states it plainly at the top of everything and wholly expect it to have issues and for those issues to be resolved I will happily invest my time and money into the game to allow the devs to do just that and deal with those issues as they come up.

More power to you for your refund, but I don't plan to cause I have faith in them to fix and make better.

BES not working for me sadly, put it at -10% and crashed after around 30 minutes. I run 3700X and 3080.
Same issue as OP with AMD 5800X3D & Nvidia 3080.
Usually happens in the loading screens - sometimes just works for hours.
Makes Windows unusable and required a hard reset.

same - windows 11 24H2
RTX 3060 Ti
Same with RTX4070Super, R7 5700X3D running on Windows 11 24H2
Same issue here.

9800X3D on X870E chipset, 4090.

W11 24H2.

Original situation. My CPU is undervolted and tested. I never had any issues whatsoever with it.

Originally I wasn't even able to load the hub of the first act. Game would freeze and lock my whole PC there.

I lowered the undervolt a bit, and everything started loading. However, the freezes aren't gone completely. At least I can play...

Also, my game still randomly freezes mid gameplay. I still have sound and I can quit the game in those circumstances with ALT-F4, but it's still there.

Today alone (been playing all day, around 10 hours) I had 3 mid-game freezes and 2 loading screen freezes.

There's no shot this is a hardware issue.

Also, hammering the CPU as hard as this game does on hubs and when loading isn't even normal.
