" Sure, I believe there are users on Win 10, Win 11 22H2 or 23H2 with loading screen freezes, but those might be caused by other reason, maybe faulty hardware, overclock, corrupted or not up-to-date drivers. Anyone who is on 24H2 and experience freezes and would like to play POE 2, should try 23H2, might work and might not. 2 hours it takes to create Win ISO and clean Windows installation is worth the shot. " Do you really think clean windows install is "worth a shot" for one badly coded game ? Last edited by Shymoo#5491 on Dec 14, 2024, 12:34:50 PM

Played for one hour with the new win11 optional KB5048162 update no crashes. I also set my motherboard bios to default. Will report back later.

" Many of us have eagerly awaited Path of Exile 2 and even spent up to $480 to support it. If you’re not willing to clean install Windows to get the game running smoothly, I honestly don’t know what to say. Yes, these issues could be due to GGG’s bad coding—or maybe not. At this point, I don’t care. I just want to play. Gaming is my favorite hobby, and right now, Path of Exile 2 is the only game I have any desire to sink my time into. Even if it took me 20 hours to do a clean Windows install, I’d do it without hesitation if it meant I could enjoy PoE 2 without any technical problems. " Tried this IN COMBINATION with changing my game to full screen and changing Upscale mode to NVIDIA DLSS, set to Quality. So far, no crashes even with my cores activated. 5800X3D 3080 32GB ram 23H2 |

I have managed to fix it finally. Today I played whole day with hundreds of teleports without issues.
***How to disable SMT/Hyperthreading/use only physical cores?***You could disable SMT/Hyperthreading from BIOS but that's not the optimal way as virtual cores will be completely disabled. That can hurt performance, especially if you have programs running in the background when playing.Instead, I use a program called Process Lasso, where I can select which cores any application can use, so I can make POE2 use only physical cores while background applications can still use virtual cores.Quick guide on how to do that:1: Download the free version of Process Lasso from Bitsum2: Install it wherever you want and open it.3: Then open POE2 and get to the main menu.4: Tab out and go back to Process Lasso. You need to find the "poe2.exe" process.5: Right click it, select CPU Affinity > Always > Disable SMT / Disable Hyperthreading.6: To make Process Lasso run in the background when you boot up your pc and apply these settings every time you launch the game, go to Options > General > Configure Startup and set the Management Console (GUI) Startup to "Do not start at login" and the Core Engine (Governor) Startup to "Start at login for ALL users". Click Next and then Finish. You can disable SMT in BIOS as well but this program will disable it only for PoE2 automatically. It disables SMT virtually but still you will be able to use all cores which for me is only -10 fps. I have tried all fixes, updates, bios, card, disable affinity (this only fixed freeze of PC but not crashes) tried 95% core fix, nothing really helped me I was searching internet all days since launch but nothing helped until this SMT. I know it is compromise but it seems tha engine has problems with SMT technology an if you will seach internet this issue is in PoE1 as well for quite some time. Follow tutorial from reddit and let me know if this helped. Thank you guys, good luck ! Last edited by Marackone#0765 on Dec 14, 2024, 1:48:32 PM
