Hard crashing PC locks up

I had no crashes or freezes until I updated to windows 11 24H2, I had multiple full system freezes and rolled it back to 23H2.

Problem solved...

So is this something GGG can solve or is this Microsofts issue or both?

Nobody said that. My entire point was about that high CPU load is only a factor contributing to the system collapse, but not the actual reason of the crash.

You are the definition of PEDANTIC. the fact that you keep divorcing the idea of CPU usage at 100% to its correlation with hardware/software damage is problematic for the purpose of these threads.

Sadly, now, this thread has no other purpose than giving a space to whine for people that are emotional. Nobody reported bricked components so I advise you to stop spreading this idea.
I would add the same to people saying that GGG should stop pushing balancing fixes to focus on this issue. Have you thought that the whole team might not be competent to work on it?

Again cursorTarget#1174 and Pyroga#2822 keep downplaying that POE2 is the only game in recent history that has crashed our PCs in the most reproduceable, consistent, and severe manner.

I sent a message to gamers nexus and jayz2cents. Maybe somebody in the media will pick this up and investigate.

See the problem is even if I wanted to roll back my windows to 23H2, it's only possible to do so with a fuckin clean install. I should NOT have to clean install my OS for ONE single damn game.

There is something on the games end that is triggering this malfunction. ITS ONLY Happening on loading anything it seems. Over a week of information has been posted in multiple threads, including the fact that this has also happened on 23H2 as well from numerous players.

SO I wouldn't tie this down to a specific windows issue, but with the mass majority happening in this particular game itself. There is literally no other conclusion with the info we have right now.


EDIT: I will say this though, and this is more or less a huge triggering rant on my end; I watch twitch/youtube consistently. ONLY ONCE have I seen a streamer go through hard crashes like this. But all of the top streamers of the game I've watched have never experienced this problem ONCE. I will not name streamers, but even then I've seen some that average 50 viewers never experience this problem.

This has been said in the discord and forums, but if certain people are loading exclusive instances due to notoriety holy shit the amount of respect that will be lost will be obscene. /endrant.

Disabling SMT (AMD BIOS) is the only thing that has helped me in this regard. Going on almost 10 hours of playtime with 0 crashes or weird loading stutters.

You nailed the spot. It feels so sus. Either the game is too big that both are true: many players experience the crash but still small enough to include the streamers as the sample.

That's the one I saw have a crash but not a system lock up like it's doing to us. Hit spot on.
