Oops, messed that post up.

I was saying that I experienced something similar to your bug with Footprints, though it wasn't with Siphon Elements. I managed to get it to work by unslotting any support gems with a Spirit cost from Temporal rift.

I am not sure that it will help in your case, but putting it out there in case it does.

Yep, it's worked. Thanks!

Niice. I'd like to see a build. Seems good.

I just did the 1st Xesht, and it's definitely not as good yet.

UPD: Silksong release today, so i'm taking a small break from poe2 xD Probably for this weekend, if the game hooks me that hard.

Ey that incinerate build looks fire *wink wink*

Yea fire spells arent bad at all. My bossing looks similar to the one in this video but im nowhere near that level/map tier. Still stuck in campaign interlude.

Nice stuff. Definetly worth comparing my build to. Thanks for sharing =)
Found it (Incinerate from the video):

Oh, no wonder it does like 6 times more dps than I have. Seed of Cataclysm alone costs 2-2.5 times more than my entire build.

I actually saw them a couple of days ago, but back then, my thoughts were like "Oh, recoup, cool", and that's it.

Now I saw it in action, and I have to say it's really good.

monik can you post you current build/setup? I'm not ready to wait another 3 days XD

EDIT: ok, I learned to read and found it

I may be missing something but the guide says in the second bullet under leveling:

"
With first Uncut Support Gems take spell cascade and Magnified Area for Ice Nova.

However spell cascade is not an option when I started a character. There are a few other discrepancies as to what is a level 1 support too that make this confusing.

Overall, having a tough go as at the start but that may be because I'm not an experienced POE player and just trying to give it a go.

I guess it is not an option for you bc the game doesn't show it.
Turn off "Show recommended gems" below when you choose gems to uncut.

There is an alternative lvling guide for the cold element:

https://www.poe-vault.com/poe2/sorceress/stormweaver/sorceress-ice-nova-leveling-build

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34ry7DOR2Vc

But, in general, I don't recommend sticking with one element during the campaign. It is all about the weapon you get. If it is +2 fire, go with fire skill early (actually, living bomb/fireball is really good for Act 1). If you get +2 to lightning, then go with it.

Later switch to an element with +3.

Or you can check Eeesense Drain/Contagion guides, they offer smooth leveling too.

The biggest problem with the sorceress league start is damage. Spells are falling behind fairly quickly. Like, if Fireball + Living bomb with +2 to fire staff will carry you through Act 1, during Act 2, it starts to fall behind after 3-4 locations.

Can concure that playing mono element (except lightning I suppose) is wonky and needs more thorough planning. You need to work around infusion generation and infusion payoffs to get decent damage. In order of each element for mono playstyles you have:

Ice: frost darts, ice nova
Fire: fireball, incinerate
Lightning: arc

Across elements there are alot more. As monik said they really want us to use multiple elements. If you dont, you have to stick with the above skills to get your damage.

Myself I am playing mono fire element cuz I love the aesthetic. My reply about skills etc can be found one or two pages before. After progressing a little further I would change things around so if youre interested in a fire approach I can hit you up with what I found.

The guides are good though.

If youre still struggling act 1/2 a lightningbolt staff + spell cascade / zenith did the trick for me. Its pretty good damage if you just spam it. Plus you can have your + x gems on a weaponswap.

In general fire element uses living bomb act 1/2 for fusion generation and swaps to snap mid act 2 till endgame.

Rotation if you play with fireball/living bomb (you should) looks like living bomb x2 + fireball repeat.

Single target looks like living bomb x2 + frostbomb + ele weakness then spam your single target skill (fusillade / incinerate etc) I can vouche for incinerate cuz its another infusion payoff

Later whenever your fireball has enough supports you snap packs that you ignited (or dead monsters that are ignited), get infusions and cast fireball till you run out.
That should do all the clearing.

Good luck. Lvling with sorc aint as bad as it is portrayed. If none of the above is working essence drain contagion doesnt need infusion syngeries and is good for lvling.

I switched back to Frostnova+bomb clear, with flamewall/orb of storms/frostjarts bossing.

partially due to the suicidal lighting warp issue. leveling, I don't have the defenses set up to not nearly die 50% of the time when I warp in on abysses/bosses. this is solved by gear, es, recoup I think. but, leveling, I dont have that yet.
and partially since, Monik already has that build set up, theres not much for me to add. Better to just do something else.

Im kind of confused why frost nova, and lightning warp seem so much better now. on paper, they are nearly untouched.

frost nova in .3 has a small amount of increased chill mag.
it DOES have the +200% damage with cold infusions. but, you need to generate them...
I am even using the same old supports for it. nothing new.

Its the same for lighting warp, its bas damage is the same as before basically.
even ball lightning same deal.
only real new thing is the insane infusion generation for it. which sure, but lit warp is the best skill atm, just in raw use too.

it is just because everything else was nerfed?

Leveling. honestly you can almost just level with ice nova. act 1 its solid on its own. just add a boss killer in there. (flamewall/jarts)
act 2 its still good 75% of the time... but, you will sometimes hit long range snipers or ground effectgs, where its melee range starts becoming a problem. stupid vultures were wrecking me.
Act 3, and you get astral projection, and its suddenly back to GG. freeze/chilling everything at the edge of the screen.

The weaknesses of ice nova:
cold infusion generation. siphon elements is such a disappointment.
overabndancee+echo+Frost bomb is it atm mostly.. reduced cd, etc great. due to CD, frost bomb can't be set to a trigger gem, which would be SO helpful. this setup is rough, and not really generating as much as I would like.
unleash staff is still limited by the limit 1/2.
frost bomb... overabundance, echo, cascade, short fuse, Cdr? I guess..

Chance to not consume infusion, double infusions, +1cold infusion etc are all good options.
cold feeding into cold, for jarts and nova are good here.

single target. ice nova is effective at aoe, and freezing trash and bosses alike.
atm, I just have echo, atral proj, and mag eff 1.
the frost jarts setup works... but is so clunky..

Unleash on weapon swap does work well. I probably should try comet again. unleashed self cast, or triggered.
eye of winter setup would be the same as frost jarts.

This is so incredibly helpful, I had no idea this was a thing. Thank you!

And super appreciate you (and the following poster) going into more detail around mono-element and suggestions.

I'm just a new player trying to figure out the world and everything that interests me doesn't seem to be "meta". lol
Hey chronos!

Just hit maps and here is a funny interaction. You get fuel via cast on ailments, which allows you to have a perma upkeep on incinerate if your damage is enough. Pretty neat.

I'll drop a second short video to showcase the current clear and kill on a rare.

Oh and remember guys this is with self found gear so pretty shit stuff. Will keep you guys updated.

Here is some abyss randomness showcasing current clear:

Build lacks a bit damage currently but I'm trying out different spirit setups atm and I haven't crafted better wands/shield etc. yet.
