for the record, not much in todays patch, or the hotfixes, are particularly notable for chronomancer/sorc.

ok, just unlocked lighting warp..
yeah... the frost nova build was doing well... lighting warp is just busted atm, compared to everything else. I was just thinking how everything relatively balanced meh.. lighting warp with no CD when everything else good has one, is just nuts. faster cast/unleash ball lightning, and you can just lightning warp in, and chain cast it, hitting all 3 ball lightnings. instantly generating 3 lightning infusions as well. and if there are enemies. more lighting infusions, and allowing us to continue flickerstriking with lighting warp, and creating shocked ground. 2 sockets, and no lighting passives.. its clearly stronger overall. oh, and it shatters frost walls, and frost walls can use lighting infusions... warp even has a respectable 11% base crit rate. making it viable for coc too. the insane infusion generation rate also fuels moniks elemental equalibrium. edit: and yeah reviewing Moniks setup. hard to argue with much of it. I might touch up the passive tree a bit. but not much. Id might want alternating current. with all the infusions I'd also consider firestorm on trigger. Ive not heard good things, but I'd wonder. " Just shows how much GGG likes the lightning element in comparison to other elements. Warp is kinda strong, I mean, the base damage. Paired with literally the best infusion generation in the game, I can't see other infusion builds atm. Other elements just lack in comparison. Living Bomb isn't even close, while cold...pff. Probably Cold Archon with Snap is good enough while clearing. There are some downsides to Warping gameplay, tho: - Semi-melee. If you don't have enough damage to 1-shot pack, they can touch you sometimes. More often, if you warp into obstacles. - being 1-2 combo w/o zoning. The magic of Bomb/frostbolt+Wall combo was zoning enemies with walls. It did 2 things in 1 combo and served as both offensive and defensive tech. Ball+Warp is just an offensive combo (Edit: at least, w/o Electrolute). - Can't offscreen in my current build. Honestly, I did consider Fire Archon for chain ignite explosions at some point. - The first point leads to problems with Abyssal maps, which I solved with Invocation Comets w/ Cascade. It does its job, but I don't have the feeling of steamrolling with it. The solution for this is simple - just scale the damage. Also, about the firestorm...well, you'd better check it by yourself. The proper Firestorm should be like my cascading Comet atm, honestly. ~~~ So, about the solutions. " Well. Yesterday, I reduced the importance of Ball Lightning in my build for ailments (ignite) by preventing it from spending infusions. And I clearly faced a problem of not having Echoing Flames up in t15 maps during the clearing bc of the very low % of fire damage. Infused Comet always applies it, but it's not like I cast it too often (and I should do it, honestly). And today I remembered about the existence of Painter's Servant gloves. With decent rolls, they are actually the second strongest gloves after the Maligaros. Surprisingly, after some changes, I got 17% more damage overall from the gloves Anyway, the proportions of damage w/o Painters were 83% L / 12% C / 5% F, while now with Painters they are 51% L / 28% Cold / 21% F. It's perfectly enough to apply all ailments in the endgame by lightning skills alone. ~~~ After some thoughts, I guess my next steps are going for Lightning Archon after I get Maligaro gloves. It is very easy to spend the entire mana pool for me w/o CoC or Mana Tempest - just 6 warps (2 ball lightning casts with multishot). Archons are strong, and I can actually save 3 points from Echoing, and just anoint Archon. Why not now? Don't have enough currency (I'm kinda poor this league), and switching after Maligaro is a bit more meaningful. ~~~ There is no need to go for Lightning Archon before Archmage and Temporal Rift. From now on, I consider cross-element with Painters as a low-budget version (or Kitoko gloves as an alternative). Even w/o unique gloves, I managed to get to lvl 89 and kill Trialmaster with <2d build (and now it costs even less). Quite solid, imho. ~~~ Anyway, currently, I'm still running a low-budget build, and I doubt I can touch pinnacles with it (well, i killed Trialmaster w/o time freeze, so I should make it on the lowest difficulty bosses now). I'll rewrite OP after I reach a bit higher. Also, if any of you guys killed some big asses, feel free to share your build and experience here. Hey there again chronos,
Sadly havent had time to play much. Just wanted to quickly chime in on infusion generation. Out of all elements cold has the worst infusion generation. Frost bomb and snap. Snap needs to freeze, bomb is on a cooldown. BIG but, it can be generated pre combat (if necessary) Fire is the second worst (kinda) Living bomb and snap. Living Bomb can be applied twice but needs to be triggered. Snap on ignite is very easy to consistently trigger 4-10 per packsize. Big plus, it works on dead monsters (damage trigger and infusion generation alike). Should have lvled with it to smooth out my infusion generation Would change the fireball playstyle to fireball till infusions gone snap repeat. Currently doing just so and its smooth sailing. Fire cant be generated pre combat. Lightning is by far the easiest. 3 generators via lightningwarp/orb of storms and snap. Can be applied precombat etc. Its pretty loopsided. If we look at payofffs oddly cold is the most demanding with freezing shards plus the fast cast rate. Non cold elements like spark are also very needy. Fire has solid infusion payoffs with incinerate/fireball meanwhile lightning only has arc?? Hence non arc lightning builds should use some other element payoff such as frostwall like monik does. So conclusion for me atm. Snap is pretty good for generating infusions en masse. If you would use the random generation node you might fill all infusion up with one go and then maybe play a triple firestorm build? For a fire build snap really speeds up gameplay. Will probably only get some time to play tomorrow/hit maps then. Might have to whip up a video of the current clear/bossing damage for comparison. " yeah, I was going to come back and give the counterpoint, lightning warp is a bit suicidal. it does need some defensive support. As you dive right into ground effects, projectiles, death effects, etc. you can't see anything while doing it. Last edited by Casia#1093 on Sep 4, 2025, 7:57:29 AM

" Snap is literally a must for non-warp builds bc they lack, i agree. Keep up good work. ~~~ Meanwhile, I ran a map after I had adjusted things for Painter's. Full run (no edit, check timecodes): https://youtu.be/BKVoYZx-9s4 Things are good. ~~~ Boss: ![]() ~~~ This is proof of Warp inflicting all ailments on rare: ![]() I slowed it to see just the 1st Warp. Applied everything with a small hit. ~~~ Important bug report: Temporal Rift DOESN'T WORK with Siphoning Elements. Footprints are there, but skill is not used on a button press. ~~~ Siphoning Elements is really good for Infusion generation with this setup. I need to check Cast on Ailment once again. Probably had poor generation simply bc of an ailment issue. ~~~ To sum up, i strongly recommend using this thing before Archons for cross-elemental builds: ![]() Build link: https://poe.ninja/poe2/profile/monik390-5560/character/Monik_ChronoA Last edited by monik390#5560 on Sep 4, 2025, 7:35:22 AM

Oops, messed that post up.
I was saying that I experienced something similar to your bug with Footprints, though it wasn't with Siphon Elements. I managed to get it to work by unslotting any support gems with a Spirit cost from Temporal rift. I am not sure that it will help in your case, but putting it out there in case it does. |

" Nice, I haven't tried the new incinerate yet. Sands of time is certainly good for it. As well as general chrono aoe slow. |
