can't us just link your steam with your account here and your good to go.
I bought on steam and my account here is activated for poe 2. and had to use the steam key here on steam to activate it.
I started on poe client and moved to steam and back and forth.

where's the download link? I was given a key from GGG. I read somewhere 5pm today from the poe2 website but dont see it.
It's not available yet. 5PM PST, or 2AM GMT+1, in 40 minutes.
Click on the big green Download Now button in 40 min, it'll be available on the download page

Do you guys honestly think that GGG would purposely withhold pre-loading on Steam? You think they *want* to make Steam users mad?
Or is it more likely that they are unable to get Steam to agree to allow pre-loading of PoE2?
I'm pretty sure that GGG doesn't want to make a large portion of their user base angry if it is something that they can prevent.
Come on, guys, think about it a bit. You *really* think GGG is trying to make you mad? Or do you think they reached an impasse with Steam in which Steam is preventing them from offering pre-load?
Nobody is thinking GGG is trying to fuck us over we just want it said clear if its not happening for fuck sake
I mean theres definately a reason behind all of this.
The facts are, you definately can preload ea games on steam, anyone saying otherwise is lying or has no clue what they're talking about, so that's on ggg.
You can purchase the game via steam and not the official poe site so thats not the problem either.
My guess is that ggg is afraid of too many people trying to login so thay delay some for better server stability and performance, thatÄs the only thing i can think of. Anything else doesn't make sense to me. Enlighten me if you know the reason behind all this.

Because you can't play the game on steam with standalone files, that's why. Just thinking you're smarter than anyone else doesn't actually make you smart.
You can definitley add any game(or not game) you want to steam to have the in-game overlay and such. and most of the time you CAN copy a games files into the install directory to "install" a game that was downloaded via a stand alone launcher. Most that would change is it will update the .exe's as required.
just adding a non steam game to steam library is not the same as having the steam version from that game. And it's not that easy to just download via standalone if you purchased it on steam because you dont have any login for the standalone client. Why you talking about stuff you dont even know. You have to message ggg so they can transfer your account from steam to standalone which can take a few days at worst. So What are we talking about here?
Or... listen to this... you click the steam login button and tada. you can even add an email address to use that login method from the account page.

You CAN NOT currently purchase it through Steam. And you won't be able to until the servers open tomorrow.
But Steam can not prevent GGG from selling the game through their own website. They CAN, however, prevent people from downloading the game through Steam until the severs open.
Yeah brother, that's on ggg not being able to purchase on steam, it's not steams fault. GGG doesn't sell directly on steam so they don't have to give steam 30% from their sales so they link their purchase option in steam to their website and can evade steam fees and that's why theres no preload on steam lol. i mean i can't blame them but tricking their customers to not being able to preload ist kinda scummy.
its hilarious this is below a post that has proof that its being bought on steam (nice timing) but yeah i sure as fuck didnt buy my access from the website my man
Yeah people are posting fast you know, shit happens. Doesn't matter. So you actualöly can purchase via steam which makes this pooint obsolete and brings up the question again why we don't have preload on steam. maybe you know better so tell us.
