Do you guys honestly think that GGG would purposely withhold pre-loading on Steam? You think they *want* to make Steam users mad?
Or is it more likely that they are unable to get Steam to agree to allow pre-loading of PoE2?
I'm pretty sure that GGG doesn't want to make a large portion of their user base angry if it is something that they can prevent.
Come on, guys, think about it a bit. You *really* think GGG is trying to make you mad? Or do you think they reached an impasse with Steam in which Steam is preventing them from offering pre-load?
Nobody is thinking GGG is trying to fuck us over we just want it said clear if its not happening for fuck sake

So if its not possible to preload via steam and ggg knows about it, why does ggg not work around that issue and come up with a solution, because that should definately be possible.
There is a very simple solution: use the standalone client.
Expecting GGG to fight Steam over this is silly. If Valve doesn't want to provide content preloading (Edit: for poe2) on Steam, that's their prerogative. If you are unhappy with that, complain to Valve. Or use the solution over which GGG actually has complete control, and that can be preloaded.
Edit: and I'm sure if preloading on Steam had been a simple thing to provide, GGG undoubtedly would've done so. So it's either unreasonably complicated, or Valve doesn't allow it for whatever reasons.

That really doesn't make any sense, simply because you can pre-purchase it anyhow. Lots of people have purchased and cannot play it still so that logic does not track.
You CAN NOT currently purchase it through Steam. And you won't be able to until the servers open tomorrow.
But Steam can not prevent GGG from selling the game through their own website. They CAN, however, prevent people from downloading the game through Steam until the severs open.
Sure, what ever you say.
Yup, you are right, but they are still not allowing you to pre-download.
Now do you think that it is Steam that is preventing this, or GGG?

Yeah brother, that's on ggg not being able to purchase on steam, it's not steams fault. GGG doesn't sell directly on steam so they don't have to give steam 30% from their sales so they link their purchase option in steam to their website and can evade steam fees and that's why theres no preload on steam lol. i mean i can't blame them but tricking their customers to not being able to preload ist kinda scummy.

I don't think it really matters who is causing the issue. There shouldn't be an issue like this to start with but it is. Casting blame will not fix it, if its GGG then we wont get it, and if its steam we probably wont get it anyway lol
Download standalone, or wait for the steam copy is all we can do.
That being said, this is most likely a mis-communication between steam and GGG, steam probably requires some sort of pre-screen or such for EA pre-loads Seeing as other games have done them in the past.

The standalone client should be available in about an hour according to their announcement. The pre-load issue is only for steam at the moment.
