Just make POE 2 not gender locked, simple.

There’s really no excuse in todays market to not offer male/female characters for all classes. This gender lock silliness is antiquated. If GGG wants to deliver the next modern ARPG, especially one that is the successor to the king, poe1, then it’s mandatory. The only downside is all that voice dialog for each class.
Yes I want that too! People enjoy games in different ways. Some ,like to see the story from the outside(where character gender can be anything the story wants), others like to envision themselves playing through the story, and men like me just can't picture in a female body.
I never spent money on female lead games. I am fine with people having this option, it's just not for me.

Adding male or female gender won't affect your game style or campaign in any way. So chill, you freaking sticky incels. You will still be able to satisfy your perverted fantasies by playing female characters.

Also incels, no one is playing this game to join your isolated community. You are not even in this topic. Saying "We won't miss you" like there was anyone in this world real or game that actually wanted anything with someone like you lmao.

I played all male characters. I may play any new ones if they release more. But until then, I'll play other games.
go play undecember. nice generic , flavoureless useless gender swap.

That is what a big part of the communitiy is asking. It will increase the amount of cosmetics buyers, no downside. You said urselves that the engine now allows you to make kind of stuff much easier.

may i ask where that "big part of the community" is?

btw, just because you think it will increase profits, dosnt mean it will, quite the opposite considering they have to actually spend more hours to model it for the opposite sex of a class, especialy in poe2 since animations are now based on class and cast/attackspeed, wich means they spend more initialy, actually reducing the earnings in total

also it only makes sense to have genderlocked classes for lore

They already make the cosmetics work for all of the distinct character models.

A potentially easy solution is to decouple character class with character model. The Witch model could just be "Woman #1" and their class being Monk with the Monk Ascendancies, because the player chose Monk as their starting class.

Then they don't have to do anything else models/animations wise, except for ascendancy-specific animations (like Demon Mode for Infernalist). All armor is rigged to all character models already, including MTX.

It would be even easier to do for PoE1 because their animations are significantly less complex.

But even as someone that really wants gender unlocked classes, the state of both PoE1 and 2 begs that they spend their time on something more worthwhile to the games as a whole. There's plenty to do in both games.

TQ2 doesn’t have gender locked.
