Just make POE 2 not gender locked, simple.
That is what a big part of the communitiy is asking. It will increase the amount of cosmetics buyers, no downside. You said urselves that the engine now allows you to make kind of stuff much easier.

+1
but i would say there actually is a downside, which is more costs, they need to have an alternate voice and they have to ensure every piece of gear equipped doesnt look too weird for each of the character models. theres a lot of work required. [Removed by Support]

Post this to Last Epoch with 5 classes. xD |

" may i ask where that "big part of the community" is? btw, just because you think it will increase profits, dosnt mean it will, quite the opposite considering they have to actually spend more hours to model it for the opposite sex of a class, especialy in poe2 since animations are now based on class and cast/attackspeed, wich means they spend more initialy, actually reducing the earnings in total also it only makes sense to have genderlocked classes for lore |

" Truth. Sometimes I would like to see gender-locked in D4 cuz amazon class. :( Last edited by modemwarr#6858 on Nov 13, 2024, 11:28:57 AM

What is it with people and genders in games? Why do people care so much about it?
Sure, in some games it makes sense from a role play perspective, but in ARPG's it really does not matter. I know, preferences and such, but I really want to understand. Personally, I do not care. If a game has no gender selection.....don't care. If a game has gender selection...don't care/play whatever mainly based on a whim. So yeah, why is this such a big issue for some people? |

Poe is not gender locked. There are body types. How dare you assume my rangers identity. My ranger identifies as a whirlwind of fiery fury sweeping through forgotten lands with a longing for strife and conflict.
In reality. This is an amazing FREE game. If you want additional body types to be added to your class then I’d suggest making a Reddit post or a tweet and hope that there are a million other players who share your sentiment. This is the day and age we live in now and in order to make a change you must get the public to stand together and politely encourage such changes. As the game is absolutely free to play. You should undoubtedly expect that these body types would come with a fee. You can’t expect POE to start giving away free cosmetics. I would be in favor of an mtx that allowed you to change body type. I could play a, dare I say “female” warrior. Yes I’d much rather be behind that transmog running into battle ;) Last edited by CloudIVXX#4358 on Nov 13, 2024, 2:18:44 PM

Shouldn't be a big issue.
If they prioritize it, fine. If they don't, fine. Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I think the OP means sex or at least body-type. That is unless they're using sex and gender interchangeably and I cbf going there.
I'd prefer to look at a hot woman berzerker than a hulking maroider. And I've always loved the two-handed sword running animation of the witch, but melee witch sucks. I think the community would appreciate the flexibility in fleshing out their characters. I do think though, that the connotations specific aesthetics give to a class make them sex/gender bound. Like a man-witch sounds like an excellent lunch item, not a class I want to play in PoE. I'm struggling to come up with new goals to keep me playing this game.

It's perfect as it is. I respect that classes are certain sexes for narrative reasons's and I'm fine playing female characters even though I'm a male. My opinion is if GGG changed it some of the immersion of the story would be lost. I believe narrative taking precedent is a very good reason to keep gender classes locked. Beyond that I feel a lot of peoples reasoning is arbitrary since lore and story immersion is so important to me.
