Just make POE 2 not gender locked, simple.
" They can easily introduce a gender-locked Amazon in D4 ;) You don't have to have both genders for all classes. I'm pretty sure such exceptions exist in some games. |

" I'm happy that you're enjoying the current characters, but evidently it's not perfect for a lot of us. " It's great that you're fine with this, however, there's many people who aren't, and they deserve to experience classes they want to play without feeling uncomfortable. " Only if they don't change the dialogue/text. The new body types would come with new voice acting and writing. This is known from one of the interviews Jonathan did. " You're being dismissive of others. The reasoning is not arbitrary just because you are okay with the current situation. I care about lore and story immersion too. So don't suggest that proponents of new body types don't care about lore and immersion. I would expect of GGG to give the new body types a proper characterization through new voicelines that match the cultural context of their body type. Perhaps it could open up some nuance, such as the male Maraketh sorcerer could be a trans guy who reflects on the matriarchal society he grew up in, and how it treated him. There is potential here for a lot of immersive stuff. |

Should be a breeze for POE2s *checks notes* 12 classes and their respective animations, voice acting etc /s
I feel that a bigger part of the community desires a good game. Second-class poe gamer

" Thanks for mentioning the exact reason why this is asked. The only ones asking for no gender locks are males and females who can't set aside that they sometimes need to play with a character from the opposite sex. [Removed by Support] Even when I was young I didn't mind playing as Blaze in Streets of Rage, alongside Adam and Axel. A friend of mine played Lara Croft on the console. People used to not care. I don't want devs putting any more resources in dual genders for each class [Removed by Support] " I don't want any of this LGBQT stuff in the game I love. " No one cares about that. Flippers are a cancerous ulcer of the PoE community

" I do, in fact, care. But I'll also not cry a river if they say it's too much work for too little payoff. Still, a female Duelist would be fun. Win 11, 7600X3D, RTX 4080, 32GB DDR5-6000, 7000 MB/s SSD, 4k Ultra

" Since when cosmetics are locked to "genders" in poe? Are you trolling or something? With all the commotion with some other AAA game that was just released and their devs losing their minds over gender politics, and the fact that you have a 11 years old account you barely played; I would assume that, yeah, you are indeed trolling. it s not simple and it s not a big part of the community.
and undecember has no gender lock and their models are generic trash. adding generic trash models wouldnt help anything. having more models could be interesting but as you can see there are already deadlines problem. so a good game > your "simple" models. and anyway they might come down the line for a mtx price but will you really be satisfied unless you can impose on others some trash models like the goblin troupe or worse. doubt. it seems this request comes from rather obnoxious "part of the community" |

The matter of gender locks shouldn't really be a concern in video games in general. What gender a pixelated character is has no weight or bearing on whether a game is good or not.
For the most part,, most all video games for as long as anyone can remember were all gender locked, some of the best video games ever did not have to placate to every person's cry about this and that. If they ever introduuce the option, that in itself is fine but it shouldd not be a big issue for anyone or a pressing matter or anything people should be upset about as it does not affect anything in the big picture. People wish to be accepted and welcomed in all aspects and believe should have whatever they want and its fine to have your opinions and views, however in that same way,, those same people complaining need to be willing to accept other peoples view points as they can be just as validated. What someone wants may not be what another person wants so if a video game has gender locks, that should be fine, it isn't taking away from anything Last edited by Thraesh#1125 on Nov 14, 2024, 6:13:54 AM

" Yeah, I have to agree, especially once you add in the hundreds of item base types that need additional versions for each character model, and then different versions of hundred of mtx that need to be added for every cosmetic that's been added to the game in the last decade, all of which would need to be reworked. I can understand people from marginalized communities wanting to see themselves represented more in the games they play, and it would be a nice add if GGG had the resources to add it without sacrificing gameplay, but there's a reason why even Diablo IV launched with only five classes, and why that game's item system has only about a fifth of the base types that it needs to really work well. It would be good, but it wouldn't be easy or simple, and with GGG's existing resources it would pretty clearly have to come with sacrifices to the gameplay systems as they diverted resources. GGG have always prioritized gameplay over pretty much everything else, and since the result of that philosophy is the best ARPG on the market (possibly the top two ARPGs on the market), I don't think it's unreasonable for them to continue doing so. Trivializing the scope and ambition of the work that GGG are already doing doesn't make that work any less technically difficult or time-consuming, and starting yet another thread on this topic isn't convincing anyone that wasn't already convinced.
