to be fair: the thread was opened after the poe2 announcement of 3 weeks delay, but before the announcement of 3 month poe1 delay.

So maybe for some people there is a difference between the two announcements of delay of poe1/poe2.

(For me it is. GGGs behaviour, communication and solution regarding the new poe1 legaue is one of the worst I expierenced since the open beta of poe1.)

also: Maybe this forum is biased because of "some moderation", filtering (some) negative comments out and letting (all) positive comments trough. You can see the difference already at looking on the reddit forum (which even is also moderated).

Ah yeah the "some moderation" has been happening for ages.

Many years ago we used to be able to come into these forums and post real content. Now it seems that things are filtered if certain groups of people get butt hurt.

dont be surprised if poe get scraped all together once the new game is up and running. and yes i know they said it wont but they also said a lot of other things. it just wont be profitable for them to keep 2 "free" games running and at the end of the day every company cares about profit over everything else.

POE 1 & 2 will run side by side. Over time the content in POE 1 will be reduced 'forcing' many people to migrate to the new shiny POE 2.

At some point (imo 2-4 years), they will sunset POE 1 and everyone will be playing POE 2.

This is why they are migrating accounts, data, collectables to POE 2 now, so that its an easier process later down the line.

i agree except it wont be 2-4 years...more like 1-2 years. there is a reason why they are already putting zero effort into poe. only doing 2 leagues per year from previous 4

Cant say the same about small content creators though, i feel for them. No really i do. One guy in particular was talking about maybe quitting his job and being a full time poe streamer. I sure hope he did not

That's a doomer take if I've ever seen one.

They are migrating accounts, data and paid mtx because that was one of the first promises they made. Now imagine breaking a promise when financials are involved. They simply have to get this one right, there is only one chance - this is one of those mistakes that if they were to happen, your company might be severely done for. GGG is smart, they aren't garage developers anymore.

It honestly feels like a lot of these opinions are more invested in being right than they are in en joying the game. They want PoE1 to fall into disuse and eventual ruin and cancellation, because then it means they were right about GGG's malevolent intentions with PoE2 and they can crow about it until the end of time.

It really, truly does feel like their ideal outcome would be for PoE2 to 'suck' and PoE1 to end up falling off the boat, rather than for PoE2 to be way better than they're all expecting it to be or for the two games to successfully coexist. Only then would the relentless doomerism be correct after all, and that's of far greater importance than having a fun time playing Path of Exile, regardless of the number afterwards.
