I guess it depends what hardware you got. Since you didn't said what hardware you have ( GB and GHZ is completly irrelevant if your hardware is bad ) you can't be helped.
This is AMD 5800X3D with AMD RX6800 on 32 Ram on 3 Monitors:
Monitor on the left is running a Video on 1920X1200 Fullscreen
Monitor in the middle is running POE on 1440p with max settings ( No culling or dynamic res)
And on the right screen that is 1920x1080 I got chrome Forum page open.
Game settings are: Windowe Fullscreen
DX12
Vsync and Triple-Buffering off and disabled
Depth of Field is off
Dyn Cul and Res are off
Engine Multi is on, the graphic settings are all on max settings
The FPS/MS greatly benefit from not playing video or have chrome open but thats how I play normally.
Here is a screen with all the settings above up and running from my old autobomber 2 or 3 seasons ago that I guess, is one of the most demanding way you can play ( Atleast I got the least framerates on that build.
if i am maintaining 165 fps for years, then an update drops that to under 60, do you REALLY think my hardware is a factor?

Could be Driver Updates/Needed Driver updates.
I don't say the POE engine is any good, its actuall pretty shit! Thats why they work on POE2. They basically just did this game as a project and it goes on and on more functions, ah shit the basecode isnt made for this we should have handled it from the beginning another way...
I imagine makeing a Game Engine is like making Software, the limitations you build at the beginning gonna fk you up later. But sure, I think POE is managable with "just throw more hardware at it till it is silent".
And I think, they tried implement new code from the new engine to see if the old one is maybe usable so they don't have to build everything new. It didn't work but the leage was allready created on it. Close your eyes and walk further I guess

Yep cause the last league came with a decent engine upgrade
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

I upgraded my CPU and my Monitor at the same time and got no difference to before, maybe I missed it that way.
But once you just played a Factorio map for 100h you see everything is smooth above 30fps lol
I have a Sync monitor that can still sync at ( I think it was) like 30fps so everything is still smoth. At this point you actually cant see anything on the screen when its running so It doesnt really hurt your eyes more than the skills itself

anyone who thinks a 100fps drop in an update could be the fault of hardware that didnt change needs to think better. full stop.

Don't play with old hardware, problem solved. It's like running a UE5 game on a N64 with the expectation of giga performance cause N64 games used to run "smooth"
Flames and madness. I'm so glad I didn't miss the fun.

Don't use old hardware or a bad setup, problem solved. The new engine change is like running a UE5 game on a snes with the expectation of giga performance cause snes games used to run "smooth"

Ok. Old hardware==bad hardware
I had the ryzen 5 5600 before I got myself an 5800x3d. Buy the cpu, get bios update, install cpu and see how bad the ryzen 5600 is.
I give you that POE isnt the most performant game out there, but when you consider all the calculations and projectiles out there you can guess that you need a good cpu. The R5 5600 is fine for graphic games, not for calc games
