PoE Overlay vs Awakened? Help a returning player!

probably a blanket statement not to use 3rd party tools
on the assumption many among the community will
download a hacked version of a legitimate honest tool
which does not breach TOS but the hacked version does.

I figure there are fake versions of tools out there
that ddos ggg players etc. make sure you get it at the
official website, or have an official md5 sum.

if awakened is legit. and you get a hacked version.
ggg washes their hands of all of it. everything.

theres only one tool they have endorsed that I know about.
that community made pack checker. ggg not only audited the
code and confirmed it is exactly what its maker said it was.
they adopted it into the client.

Almost 2024.. they make fun of other companies and themselves but can't have enough "courage" to make some sort of official statement what is and what isnt allowed with 3rd party tools..

this isn't unique to GGG. They have their reasons, ehm.... Still better than shit that Steam or CS:GO are up to, i know, i know whataboutism- but this isn't getting any better (alluring to the 2024 argument part)

so you wont get banned for using it but if you mess with the settings and "abuse" it then you get banned for using it? yeah thats not confusing at all. so we cant change any settings?

Think about definition of game cheating "gaining advantage over other player by means not intended by the game examples: hiding playing cards in your sleeve, using third party software that provides advantage"
If you would not gain advantage by using third party software, why would you?

For third party software that deletes your account on death you could even make argument that it does not provide advantage. But for app that partially automates

You can not make that argument, it is obviously providing advantage with these and many more features otherwise no one would use it.

Arguments for using this are same arguments you'd use for maphacks, autologouts, aimbots

Imagine if the macro triggered an anti bot system. You got flagged, then banned.... you try to appeal but you were clearly using a 3rd party software, you go on forums to compliant- ppl say "oh sure, i bet it was only the macro he was using"

Here is one of many examples of what happens with criminals that do not pay the fine.

Use this stuff at your own risk guys, I do not even use graphical drivers not approved and released by GGG. And when i buy new mouse I walk and swim directly in to GGG HQ(this is 15000 km for me so it is tiresome trip) and ask them if I can use that specific one. (this is because all modern gaming mouses have preinstalled macros)

ToS are too vague to give the company big leeway, so it is always best to not tempt the devil and just stick to the game as it is. I believe that most of you have no ill will when using these tools, but software used to ban you is not detecting your ill will, it is detecting things like software name or ID, server actions/second, edits to game files(for example DLL injection) just to name few. No anticheat contacts you with "Hi brother, do you cheat?" Maybe gamemasters used to do that 20 years ago, but it is not a thing anymore.

They won't ban you I promise you and no they don't give a fuck if you have supporter packs or not they will ban you LOL there's multiple people with high tier supporter packs that got banned as it is; Think those will save you? Fuck no.

If Awakened PoE trade was against the rules/ToS, it would take someone from GGG a couple of seconds to come into this thread to say so. They won't, because they don't have the manpower, resources or wish to ban half the player base.
