What do you think about the fact that Diablo 4 has copied POE wholesale?

To be honest, no opinion really. Blizzard is well known to have the changed state lately. From pioneers in genres to copy paste money hungry industry.

To be honest it's GGG's fault for not improving certain things and instead just focusing on keeping Chris's vision alive...

Blizzard won't make that mistake, they will cater to as broad audience as they can in order to get the money. While GGG will get the pennies and cry in a corner that they are the better developers with no money and 30k players :)...

Since GGG keeps on repeating "we like how it turned on"...Well if you like it, then you can go ahead and play it with the other 20-25k players that will remain in the game :))

Blizzard were never trendsetters. They were the ones that did the trend right. WoW was the previous 5 years of MMORPGs like Asheron's call, EverQuest, Dark Ages of Camelot done right. Star Craft was RTS like Dune and Command and Conquer done right. Warcraft was Dune done right.
Overwatch was the MP shooter genre done right for a GAAS model.
Diablo is the only game where they actually sort of invented the genre and set the trend, unless there's some other franchise I'm forgetting.

Isn't this sort of ironic? I mean... Metallica "selling out" (your words) with The Black Album, turning more mainstream to reach a wider audience/earn more money with Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven is "vulgar" (your words). But GGG should change what they can change to turn more mainstream, reach a wider audience and earn more money? They both have/had an artistic vision?

Don't get me wrong here; should GGG add what they can add in term of QoL? Sure. Should they make the game more beginner/casual friendly, at least in the early stages? Maybe. But should they turn away from the vision of being the most hardcore and complex game in the genre just to earn more money, displeasing their hardcore fans at the cost of pleasing new, potential fans? Well, that's the "vulgar" question, isn't it?

(Edit: Holy shit, why the hell did that get removed?)
Sometimes, just sometimes, you should really consider adapting to the world, instead of demanding that the world adapts to you.

I had something removed yesterday that was surprising to me, while some of my other posts were more antagonizing than the one that was removed. The pendulum of moderation sometimes swings hard against you I guess.

Apparently I'm the golden boy here, can't remember the last time I got something removed. Maybe my Nordic-English slang is too articulate.

It's been a very long time for me as well. What was removed was really odd. I pointed out an obvious strawman argument, which should be okay. If that's considering antagonizing, then I'm in trouble :)

I think there is definitely some "results may vary" from different moderator to moderator. I've had things edited days later, or the same sentence edited out in one post but not another. Some degree of interpretation is understandable though, so it's not typically a huge deal if an oddball happens now and again.

Also keep in mind if someone reports it, and gives a justified reason, I've seen that get scrutinized more than just GGG passing through a thread.

Not to mention the forums participation, traffic, and activity is at an extreme low point right now. Both in terms of the content of the threads, but also on how really unforgiving its been lately. Most are trollish or bait, and often become sparring grounds, which I'm guilty of too unfortunately.

Spoiler
For example I said 40/40 challenge folks were more elite gamers compared to casuals, and used that in an argument. Apparently that's antagonistic? Idk man seems like a reasonable conclusion to me, but it is what it is. I suppose both "casual" and "elite" can be weapoized a bit, but those terms are a dime a dozen on discussion boards

*side note, just because you think something is a strawman, doesn't mean it is. And if you use that to invalidate someone's opinion, I can absolutely see how that would antagonize someone. Having been on the wrong side of that from you personally, just saying, no animosity, but you can be dismissive at times, and that's...well it's frustrating to be sure. :) all good though I've made peace with this Diablo shit, it's not worth it anymore here. It's like arguing religion or politics.

Haha they should add D3 to that as an "inflammatory" topic. Not serious of course, but it does rile people up a bit, myself included.

Agreed. This is certainly a matter of interpretation, like a baseball umpire and their strike zone.

This seems like someone that is unable to separate "elite" from "elitist".
