What do you think about the fact that Diablo 4 has copied POE wholesale?

Candy Crush has made more money than Diablo 3

Candy Crush is undeniably a popular game, and a host of people think it is a good game.

Back when I played Blizzard games I seriously got censored and a 24 hr suspension for saying something that was upsetting to the community (that was the mods words). It did not matter if what I said was true, which it was, as it was from my own personal life. My statement went against a popular narrative that was not bound in actual science. That was it for me, that was the last straw with Blizzard it was clear that you were no longer allowed to say things the mob didn't like and if you did you got a suspension, so I unsubbed and have never returned or spent a dim on a Blizzard game since.

I always thought PoE was better than that, somethings as of late have been concerning though (you can't be negative). Rules are always so vague that you can't actually tell what you did wrong, and half the time it comes down to who felt offended. the problem is everyone is offended at everything now days. I hope things start to turn in a positive way in the near future.
The people who play Blizzard games are the ones who says Apple is the best baddest sickest gaming brand there is, in a very loud and annoying voice

I know of one such idiot. Funny thing is he uses a PC to play the games but still thinks Apple is the best gaming computer

Ben and Imexile both play WoW, Kripparian plays Hearthstone, Ghazzy plays Wow, there are a lot of very good players that don't think that way. I can only think of one fellow that I knew that used a Mac, and he would refuse to restart his PC because he said it took it half an hour to reboot. LoL but that was probably nearly 8-10 years ago now.

Isn't this sort of ironic? I mean... Metallica "selling out" (your words) with The Black Album, turning more mainstream to reach a wider audience/earn more money with Nothing Else Matters and The Unforgiven is "vulgar" (your words). But GGG should change what they can change to turn more mainstream, reach a wider audience and earn more money? They both have/had an artistic vision?

Don't get me wrong here; should GGG add what they can add in term of QoL? Sure. Should they make the game more beginner/casual friendly, at least in the early stages? Maybe. But should they turn away from the vision of being the most hardcore and complex game in the genre just to earn more money, displeasing their hardcore fans at the cost of pleasing new, potential fans? Well, that's the "vulgar" question, isn't it?

(Edit: Holy shit, why the hell did that get removed?)

We shall find out why it was removed. Maybe I annoyed a huge Metallica fan who rushed in guns blazing, who knows.

My point was though, at some point selling out (financially) to Tencent is going to affect the product, especially if Tencent comes to realize that GGG is purposely blocking a ton of new users and potential customers with the Act 1/2 revamp.
you forgot about variety of builds, balance, survivality matter and stopped with that all dmg monkeys who have 150 miliards of dmg with no single point in survi. xd

also... community is worse than immortal and slowly looks more like community of league of legends.

you ask a question and someone calling "you are stupid you cant play like that oh god you stupid troll" xd

I'm drained from poe by this.

D4 will be a cash grab

so, poe each season has a ton of extra costly mtx that benefits zero to gameplay.

Isnt that a definition of a cash grab right there?

The sale MTX is not the cash grab, the fact they push the release with broken mechanics every 3 months to make the marker to sell the MTX that is the cash grab.

I guess we all define cash grab differently. MTX that has no impact on the gameplay whatsoever feels like the opposite of a pure cash grab. The price point really means nothing; that just speaks to the target audience and how much of the item do they want to sell. Do they want more volume at a lower price, or less volume at a higher price. I'm sure it's based upon what they think will drive the most revenue, which is perfectly fine to me because it has no impact on the game and it helps keep the lights on.

A cash grab to me feels more like releasing an expansion that is basically just an additional class or using a franchise name to generate sales but deviating heavily from what the prior releases were. Or creating a problem, and then selling the solution - a good example is creating a new fragment and then selling a new tab to store it. Fortunately, GGG stopped that practice. I felt like that was the worst thing they did in terms of monetization with mystery boxes being a distant second.

To be honest, no opinion really. Blizzard is well known to have the changed state lately. From pioneers in genres to copy paste money hungry industry.

To be honest it's GGG's fault for not improving certain things and instead just focusing on keeping Chris's vision alive...

Blizzard won't make that mistake, they will cater to as broad audience as they can in order to get the money. While GGG will get the pennies and cry in a corner that they are the better developers with no money and 30k players :)...

Since GGG keeps on repeating "we like how it turned on"...Well if you like it, then you can go ahead and play it with the other 20-25k players that will remain in the game :))

Blizzard were never trendsetters. They were the ones that did the trend right. WoW was the previous 5 years of MMORPGs like Asheron's call, EverQuest, Dark Ages of Camelot done right. Star Craft was RTS like Dune and Command and Conquer done right. Warcraft was Dune done right.
Overwatch was the MP shooter genre done right for a GAAS model.
Diablo is the only game where they actually sort of invented the genre and set the trend, unless there's some other franchise I'm forgetting.

Well you can call them pioneers in setting the standards...What exactly did GGG or any other company that copy pasted things set the standard for ?

Also like I said, they take things that are done wrong and make them good for a wider audience...

I call this strategy the win strategy...Why cater to 30-100k games when you can have millions playing your games. It's just statistics but from a million 500k may disagree with things but there is a solid chance the rest will just fuel further your cause. While no body will care if 10k people shout that POE is better...The number is trivial...Some people like McDonalds and that's not even real food
Never invite Vorana, Last To Fall at a beer party.
