Haven't played in a while and came back to see what all the fuzz is about. Fired up my standard SSF mapper and blasted T16 maps.
Loot feels pretty much underwhelming to say at least. Mapping feels a bit clunky cause rares range from one shot to 1 minute fights. Loot are the same items no one needs. > Item quantity means you directly find more stuff, and item rarity means that it has a higher chance of upgrading to magic, rare or unique. >From the 3.19 expansion onwards, we are trying to make sure that reward systems scale with player item quantity and rarity bonuses. This might be shocking to you but nearly no one uses rarity on gear because 99% of blue, rare or uniqe items that drop are just useless. And _always_ have been. It's just plain luck if you identify something semi useful every [insert big number] items. With your new system you are basically forcing players to get more quantity on gear. Which is ironic because you removed the quantity gem ages ago and rolling quantity on gear was reintroduced as mod on items. This change hurts build diversity which is one reason people play this game in the first place. >That's why the reward conversion system that higher-tier Archnemesis monsters have is so powerful. Any bonuses you have from additional difficulty will affect the rewards that the rare monster drops. Additional item quantity causes them to drop more items that are converted, and additional item rarity causes those items to upgrade, which also affects the converted one. For example if you upgrade a rare item to a unique item and it's then converted to a currency item, it'll drop as a Divine Orb, Exalted Orb or Orb of Annulment. So basically out of the blue someone decides that rarity affects currency drops now? After x years where this was not the case. No wonder i dropped 20 flasks from one monster. Build diversity is basically gone with that change. Everyone will play some form of magic find char now. Can't say much to the AN stuff otherwise since i skipped the league but in my opinion it's a bad decision to do such fundamental changes (loot) on a game that is out for 10 years. I left games that i loved and played for years (which where still actively developed) because the game went downhill. Imagine buying a product for years because you like it and it works for you and suddenly the company changes it for no good reason. This is how this change feels. Those changes to crafting and harvest are also bad for me as an SSF player. Yes i know no one gives a crap about SSF. But the amount of lifeforce you get vs the costs of the "good" gambling options is just to high. To end this post with something positive: I'll never fuck up real life friendships ever again because i definitely won't play much PoE in the future. Best of luck with your vision. Can you add some alternative for divine orb? Rerolling values is ridiculous now with the price for the orb.

I've been working on it for another weekend and I feel like the drop rate hasn't improved and maybe I should give up this season.
I played a total of two characters, but they were only at the level of T14. There was too little currency to improve my equipment, and there was only constant death and disappointment. I don't want to use mines or traps every season because I'm really tired of it, But using other genres just rolls around on low-level maps that don't give me currency, which seems like a dead end to me. This game has begun to make it impossible for ordinary players to play normally, do you know this? By the way, I had a few friends playing Path Of Exile with me, but they didn't want to be involved this season, making it painful and lonely for me to play again. This is not a fuss, I really tried hard, but failed, I hope to pay more attention to the feelings of ordinary players. I'm Taiwanese, I use Google translate. |

I have played some leagues and skipped others and I'm not one of those 1% that fully juice their maps and play with 5 of my buddies but this is the first time I've seen a fully juiced map with 6 people in it dropping what after calculating price makes them a net return of about 36 chaos (for the whole party) so about 6 chaos per person. I understand that crazy loot explosions all the time are not good and that a 6 people party can be exploitable but what sense does it makes to waste the time to procure the items to fully juice a map, get 5 buddies fully geared to play the map with you and earn 6 chaos. Some buffs and nerfs keep a game balanced and fresh but IDK. When I read the patch notes I didn't even bothered to enter the game at league start cuz I knew something like this was about to happen.

[Removed by Support] Tried to get some currency, well i sure don't gonna need more Scroll of Wisdom this league since drops of gear is extinct , and i don't have to be worried about the global heating, got 100's of flasks with different tastes. oO Tried to progress but gave up after 50+ pm's to get the cheap gear i need for my build, do i have to say no answer. Regarding post of Chriss. It wrong to do always what people want for a game. Sometime players don't want what is the best for a game. But in poe, most of the people must really really know the game, before they are actually able to play the game. And this is the first thing wrong of the game. It way to overcomplicated, with too much sistems', skills and options, and most of the skill and items are not actually viable to play. If GGG deleted 90% of skills and items at any point, i guess is not going to harm alot the game.The second problem, is that u guys make most of the decisions based on 1% of the player base. I do play poe, but i also have work and other things to do, so my time is around 10-12 hours a week. In current state game is not fun. It was not fun in the last to years, since game is made more and more difficult and overcomplicated, and is only meant to be played for professional players. If u guys wnt to solve the loot problem, must completely remove most of the items in the game, and make loot a bit more deterministic, and make ways for skipping the 10 acts. All i can see now is not a game, is a actual work, were i am incentivized to work super hard for everything and also pay real money if i like the work. Well i don't.
