Development Manifesto: Harvest Crafting

I cant understand what was the problem with Harvest at all? most people i see complained about it are usually people wanting either more slots to store crafts or tradable like bestiary. You guyz had the biggest player retention rate ever... you have many more people playing more then just few weeks... everyone had a clear target goal instead of "i will get few exalts and slam then to get something good lul"...
Only people i saw complain about Harvest being too strong are some dirtbag streamers or jealous people that ignores harvest and just complain about it without ever trying to understand it?
whoever said "We don't want to take away the feeling of closing your eyes and Exalting an item, scared to see whether you ruined it or not." is way out of touch and probably should not be in the position they are in right now... this is almost as bad as EA's pride and accomplishment or Blizzard's "dont you have phones"... straight up embarrassing.
But this game terribly needs some deterministic crafting, not the pure casino gambling thing! Gambling is discouraging and dishonest to the players.

Starforge is partially due to the basetype damage change. Can't remember the net dps loss due to unique mod nerf + basetype buff

yeah I know that it was partially due to unique mod nerf + basetype buff

But:
Now has 200-300% increased Physical Damage (from 400-500%).

And only 30% increased as an implicit.

So all in all about 200 PDPs nerf in the process.
Why else would it be nerfed like that not to force you to RNG your crafts as 700+ PDPs swords aren't that common and easily obtainable as Starforge was.

the buff is not only due to implicit but the raw damage roll (from 52-108 to 62-129)

You are right. But the point was that they nerfed the Starforge and it lost around 200PDPS regardless of the small increment buffs of 30% inc phys and 10 flat. And why did they do it? Because 3.11 Harvest, that's why. Oh right...

It's their game, they can do whatever they want. But people quit much quicker if they are streamlined into playing the same few builds they have already played in the previous leagues. Is there any meaningfull change as for gems or uniques each league? hardly. You can't call 6% gem buffs or uniques no-one will use meaningfull.

Theoretically so much to do in the game at the moment, but practically so little. Usefull Uniques can be counted on the palms of the hands. 900 gems from which not even 5% is really usefull.

Why can't there be more diversity. Leave the strong stuff as it is and add some stuff beside it that is equally strong.

Let the uniques be a stepping stone that at least enable you to get almost to endgame and not hang in the middle not being able to progress.

Elder fight hold up preety good with the Watcher's Eye. It's still RNG but at least you get something usefull from the fight.

Do you get something usefull from Oshabi? Do you get something usefull from the Twins? Do you get something usefull from the Elder and Shaper Guardians? Why have them drop anything unique anyway when it's vendor trash.

Like I said it "seems" to have so much depth but each character is almost the same, using the same items etc. where the crafting endgame is envisioned as pulling a slot machine as many times as you can afford. Not the depth I was hoping it will end up being.

Nerf harvest but not to the ground. Harvest is quite fun but was going in bad direction, making this game more casual and items lost their value. Don't make this game like diablo 3, because will die fast. It's sad that people don't want to learn mechanics, they want best gear for free, that's ridiculous.
If I want azart, I will go to the casino. Not in poe, understand this ggg

Crafting in poe is not the knowledge of a mechanic, but pure luck and endless spam of alts, dude, and u know it

The problem is, and we do have to acknowledge this, if you do utilize large private community efforts like with the TFT discord to "trade" or make available all kinds of harvest crafts to everyone participating whenever they need it, that essentially allowed, it was possible to craft a large number of very high quality items in a very short time, as well as craft a lot of perfect items that you could not realistically craft before, or will be able to craft after the nerfs.

This would not be a problem at all if everyone had to find their own harvests as it could be balanced by rarity.

But for TFT discord users, it's only balanced by profit margin, not difficulty of finding the right crafts, and there always is large profit to be had in mass producing high quality gear lots of players need.

This ticks off GGG though, as this allows a relatively large number of players to do content they couldn't do before, and GGG wants their game to be *hard*, as in, only the top 1-2% should be able to do it all.

They first tried to ignore TFT discord, and balanced it this league without trading in mind, but mass trading happened anyways.

Now they balance it for the TFT guys, which makes it nearly useless for everyone else as it still requires a large amount of knowledge and effort to efficiently utilize but provides little profit unless you trade your crafts instead of wasting what you can't use and you also don'T find what you need, when you need it without trading, for the few niche crafts that still remain useful in trade league.

oh look devs!

such an easy solution to all the rage you've created with your horribly destructive manifesto!

Man... For the first time, I was actually thinking of going for 40/40 challenges. I enjoyed this league THAT much. And my hopes for PoE going in a good direction were high.

Then comes this manifesto. It's not even about the harvest nerf anymore. It's about the direction the game is heading with comments like exalt slam or chaos spam are fun.

I'm now sitting at 35/36 challenges and to be honest, I can't even pull myself to get that last one ticked...
