ok here are the lastest changes to the Inquisitor build

1) Removed Skitterbots entirely from build to fix our mana

2) Moved Herald of Ash to the Enlighten set up to take advantage of Enlighten

3) Added back in Defiance Banner

4) Removed Charisma from Necklace as we have 136 mana left over with out it, which is a nice amount to run the build

5) Removed Lightning Golem and added Vaal Haste

6) In place of Charisma I added in old favorite Soul of Steel* which gets our resists to 81/86/81 and gives a nice chunk of armor. The extra point in Fire Res may help us sustain RF while mapping if we want to attempt that.

* There are a million choices you can make here so if any one sees a better idea please let me know. This version is extra tanky with Soul of Steel and still tops out over 10m in burst mode with Vaal Haste. Even with out Vaal Haste we are still close to 9m dps.

Lets keep improving this!! I am sure we can come up with better ideas than mine :)

Here is the latest Inquisitor that brings in the changes from above

I like the changes!

Would 97 mana still be enough? If so we can remove the +1 gems corrupted gloves now too. Will make gearing a little cheaper and easier. Stats we need without the corruption are about 40c instead of 1ex.

I think this version is the best so far. On paper at least until someone actually tests it. I started buying gear in standard to try on my level 100 templar, but quickly remembered how expensive everything is there and why I don't play there. :-)

This final version (maybe?) is great because of the anoint options for Stampede now.
1. Soul of Steel - Defensive option. Agree with you that this is probably the best one on finished build
2. Charisma - still a great option until Enlighten is leveled
3. Throat Seeker or Heart Seeker - 30% crit multi DPS option. +700k DPS
4. Cleansed Thoughts - Doubled chaos res is great obviously if you can't get the chaos version of watchers eye or gear with chaos res is too expensive.

97 would be cutting it it real close.

Mana is clearly going to be an issue for our build so as we level people are going to have to make some conscious choices about which auras to turn on especially since Enlighten is likely to be uber expensive again.

Determination, Purity of Elements and TS are mandatory to make us function in red tier maps. Those need to fit no matter what other choices in gear or tree are made imo.

I love all those choices for the anoint. Having some flexibility will help as we level and I can definitely see myself making changes as we level and learn more about what we need.
So if every thing works out as we hope for, these should be our defensive layers at full build with no flasks up

* ~7k health pool

* Total ailment immunity (chill, freeze, ignite, shock, brittle, sap, and scorch)

* 100% stun immune (while casting)

* Very high elemental resistances (81/86/81 possible)

* Chaos res capped

* Max block

* Corrupted Blood immune (grab this on one of the unique jewels)

* Solid armor and occasional endurance charges to offset phys damage

* SAP (this one is brand new to us. It looks like it could be excellent depending on how quickly it stacks).

* 33% reduced damage takes on crits

my aging brain no longer functions well in terms of math. Here is the equation for SAP

Sap's magnitude is given by the formula: (100/3) * (Damage / ailment threshold)^0.4

The formula is basic enough but I don't understand what to use for ailment threshhold to see how long it would take to get to 20% max stack for SAP on a boss or even just a heavy fatty while mapping...
ok, next iteration of the build craft needs to be focused on the flasks. Lets talk this through

1) life flask with instant recover on low life seems mandatory. Typically I put bleed here as well. If we have corrupted blood immunity, I guess we would need to see how much regular bleed would bother us at end game

2) Wise Oak - easy choice.

Those 2 are cheap and easy choices. Bottled Faith is for extreme end game because of cost, so lets leave that to the side for now. Lets consider our other choices

- Silver Flask for Onslaught. With Cinderswallow's utter gutting by GGG, I love a basic silver flask for this build. Our current POB shows crit chance as an additional mod, but I don't think that will be needed at end game since we are way over the top for crit chance.

- Granite Flask. You can never have enough armor with the non linearity of armors defenses against big bonks. Maybe add in poison immune here?

- Quartz Flask. This gives phasing and a little spell suppression. I don't think we need a ton of phasing though since we tend to plant our feet and kill until pack is gone and head on our merry way. I am likely not to use this flask unless the league mechanic requires some phasing.

- One flask I had great luck with in 3.16 was the Elixir of Unbroken Circle Iron Flask on another build. This gives a small amount of ward for more defense, and does a really nice job giving endurance charges. If one uses this, we would change out of Enduring Focus to another damage node in the cluster (Rapid Infusion). I know last league Clay experienced some issues with the consistency of Enduring Focus and we ended up removing it from the build. The flask might be a better choice for Endurance charges, at least until we need room for bottled faith.

I would love to hear other ideas. Once we can settled on a group of flasks I will update the POB again.

After playing with POB, I think I am definitely using Elixir of Unbroken Circle Iron Flask. I forgot about our armor's effect on Ward. Ward is a global defense so this doubles the flask amount of Ward.

Drinking the flask will now give 400 Ward. Ward reduces the final damage of the hit.

Ward can absorb all types of damage: Physical damage, Fire damage, Cold damage, Lightning damage and Chaos damage

It does not work against DOT though I believe.

Ward is a tiny layer of defense because it has horrible uptime.

More importantly, the Endurance charges the flask gives and the ability to add back in another Rapid Infusion, this seems like a very easy choice to make in place of the Quartz flask.

Here is a POB that includes the flask, and changes out Enduring Focus for Rapid Infusion giving us another 400k of consistent damage!

I have also made a change to the Silver flask to remove the crit chance and add in poison immunity.

On a related topic, we have a 100% crit chance. We are casting 10.8 times a second, which means we will be criting over 10 times every second.

Does that make this mod on a flask more attractive to us or are there still other mods that would be better?

"33% chance to gain a Flask Charge when you deal a Critical Strike."

That mod would give us 3+ charges every second even with no kills.

I'd just like to add another positive vouch for this build and thanks to the contributers on this thread.

I've just killed A8 Sirus deathless and it's the first time I've actually enjoyed the fight. Being able to tank his abilities is refreshing and actually allows for relatively high DPS uptime, meaning the fight seemed a lot shorter than I was expecting.

I'm following this thread with interest as the next version goes through it's iterations. Great job all!

I definitely think charge on crit is the way to go for the flasks. With 100% crit chance that should give us 100% uptime on the flasks. Although, it's actually not that important since the silver flask is the only one we have an option for.

Your picks for flasks are good I think. Until getting the bottled faith use a diamond flask instead to still have 100% crit chance.

I tried switching the medium cluster you added with rapid infusion to one with unwavering instead. That gives us two and 100% stun immunity while channeling so I thought I could free up the 3 stun nodes above witch for something else.

I don't think that's worth it though. I didn't see anything within 3 points that is worth giving up the resistances and strength we also get from the stun nodes.

Awesome!

I did the exact same thing with Unwavering Focus but when I saw we lost the resists I went with more damage and stayed with the stun/resist nodes instead.

I am going to start adding to the notes screen in POB for things like the diamond flask in place of bottled faith. By the way, when I remove Bottled Faith from build, I still see 100% crit. We wouldn't need the diamond flask in that case right? Diamond will likely be needed though until all the crit chance pieces are in place.

What order should we take the asendencies in to smooth out leveling? I want to add that to the notes as well.

I have a question about Molten Shell, as we have two choices.

1) use a low level shell in CWDT

2) use a full strength shell decoupled from CWDT and put it on left mouse button. It can also be placed on another key at the same time to be used self cast if we are standing still channeling and want it to go off.

I am leaning towards number 2.

I would go with 2 as well I think. Bigger buff that way.

I would go Sanctuary and Pious as 1 and 2 for the consecrated ground buffs. Penitence 3rd since it's both a dps and defense buff.

Last would be Righteous Providence since we won't see any benefit to that one until dropping EO and converting to crit tree.
