Oh come on, plenty more people are sick than the ones listed there. The official death rate is between 1-3%, its not gonna get any higher unless it drastically mutates.

I'm glad to see organisations such as the Australian ABC dedicating resources to debunking a number of the ludicrous and at times dangerous claims and reports circulating these days.

They also have a list of recommended information resources - certainly more reliable than cousin Jimmy's facebook repost.

If you're a data geek, that last site is an excellent resource. One thing I really like about it is they provide commentary about how to use the data and what it's limitations are. It allows the intelligent user to correctly interpret the results and know what conclusions can and can't be made. Their section relating to the differences between the crude mortality rate, the infection fatality rate and case fatality rate is well worth reading.

You've been told this before, and you will be told it every time. This isn't "factual information", it's a bullshit interpretation of the data, which public health officials themselves don't use. Every time you spout this bullshit, you will be called out. It's bullshit, and you're being deliberately mendacious.

You also refuse to engage with those who've pointed out your misrepresentation, only ever pointing to the raw data as a weakass excuse that doesn't address the actual criticism. And with every occasion you do that, you start to echo the style of, ironically, one of the very people you probably most despise - a certain American leader (who the mods here won't allow to be named...).

Imagine thinking this thing has a 19% death rate. If you truly believe that this is the case, I hope you're at least well prepared for a SHTF scenario because oh boy are we fucked. Luckily the number is not true.

Still better than the people who believe this is one big conspiracy for the New World Order to take over and in reality the death toll in Italy is nothing special and happens every year.

Two wrongs don't make a right. Letting one go while pouncing on the other simply reveals one's own biases. And more fundamentally, shows just how little you care for the truth. Don't complain about misinformation if you're happy to mislead people yourself, or defend others doing so in this case.

At least the people who think it is way more lethal are more likely to stay at home and not be a burden.
